This was a very nice place to stay for 2 nights! We had some nice shared moments : on a boat for fishing and during the evening, cooking our one fish. We loved it.

A great place to stay

Nice,  well located. The room was big enough to us abd we loved the artist details of every single angle of the house. We were very wellcoming by the attendance employees giving us suggestions for what to do and what to see on  the island

Pleasant and relaxing place

Firstly, we booked this only as we made a last minute de tour to Ilha grande and at short notice we were struggling to find anywhere else. 

When we arrived we were unable to locate the pousada as it had no name signage only when we asked a local were we able to find the place, she then spent around 5 minutes shouting out the name of the owner as no one appeared. 

Eventually, Silvio/Silvan appeared slightly flustered. First impressions of this place were really good, lovely decor, in a lovely relaxed setting. 

We were shown two rooms and advised it was up to us which we wanted. The second was bigger and generally better so we chose that. 

The room was smelly, a strong toilet smell, and it felt a foisty. We dumped our bags and left to find food and drinks, while we were out it rained heavily, and when we got back to our room we found a puddle of water on the floor where there had clearly been a leak in the roof which had came down the wall. We called Silvio who appeared shocked and said it had never happened before, which I don't believe as there was a stain on the floor prior to us finding the leak. I believe this happens every time it rains.

We were offered the other room which we had turned down, as it was late we accepted. 

This second room was damp and foisty and had a strong smell of mould, there was mould on the walls, the wood in the bathroom was rotten and a hole in the wood was filled with tissue. 

Neither of us slept well due to being in these uncomfortable surroundings so made the decision to check out the next day. When we told Silvio the next day we wished to check out yet we were prepared to pay for the one night we did stay he was very hostile towards us and said we would need to pay for all 3 nights. When we refused He then told us to wait while he rang someone (I'm assuming the owner?) eventually, he agreed to let us pay for the one night only, albeit it was slightly more than advertised. 

I wouldn't stay anywhere that was damp and mouldy , there was no way I was putting up with it here. I can't comment on breakfast as we were so desperate to leave we didn't hang around for it. 

Damp and leaky

Silvio was not very thrilled when we arrived. The room we were given was large but sheet on bed not clean. The mattress on both beds looked like they had been collected from the street. Breakfast was fine and the location of the room was very stunning. He has made a very artistic and relaxing space. The rambling house was cute. There was no hot water but the humid weather made us not worry too
much. 

Initially unwelcoming but eventually approachable.

We stayed in one of the bigger rooms. There are 6 rooms, but Silvio (the owner) does not seem to want /need to rent them all out. The breakfast is very nice with fresh bread, fruit and juices. There is plenty of hot water and the pousada is centrally located. Silvio has created a very relaxed environment in which it is a pleasure to stay a couple of nights (we stayed for 4 nights).
