If I could give this place 11/10 I would! Possibly the most beautiful hostel in Ilha Grande, up the hill, with wooden chalets in a leafy jungle garden. Warm family atmosphere, delicious breakfast buffet including fruit, eggs and homemade cake served on lovely tableware. Dorms and rooms are spacious and serviced every day. A great place to chill out during the day if you want to stay home - big shady verandah with hammocks, and also a great place to get to know other travellers. Common kitchen is the cleanest I've seen in any hostel. I ended up staying a week, as it was so hard to leave. 
One thing to watch out for - Google Maps sends you in the wrong direction up to the hostel, so it's best to follow signs and ask passers by which way to go.

Perfect

I was able to spend there about a week in FEB 2019 and I'm very happy for the opportunity. Hostel is next to jungle and it is very easy to go for morning walks deep into the jungle and explore Ilha Grande island. 
The hostel is VERY clean, staff is helpful 24/7, and the nature is unforgettable.
If you are looking for privacy and near nature place to live, then I would recommend Holandes Hostel. You will not regret :)

Paradise-Like Jungle Hotel

Great hostel, really awesome garden. Clean and helpfull people. If you want a place to relax and spend some time reading a book. The town is small so this place is just perfect. Away from the busy centre but still really close.

Great jungle hostel

Just returned from four nights here. The hostel is about a 5-10 minute walk from the main strip of restaurants and shops. 
The hostel complex is in the middle of the jungle with lots of birds and monkeys in the trees. There are also three very friendly resident cats and some chickens that live at the hostel. 
The staff working there are super friendly and welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. 
The laundry service offered is worth using. Very reasonable and quick!
We stayed in one of the bungalows which although small and basic was perfectly fine and the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water
Would definitely return to this oasis.

Oasis in Ilha Grande

Rooms big and spacious, lockers too, Air conditioner, fan, and clean.  Common areas with hammocks, a beatyfull garden with lots of Orquideums, chiken and fish.Kitchen very nice, the attention to the guests was very good and there is no reproach that can be made to the facilities. I recomend this hostel! It`s perfect!

wonderfull place to stay in ilha grande

This is a dreamlike property situated in the Atlantic rainforest, about a kilometre from the jetty in Villa de Abraao. The gardens are a work of love and are lovingly tended to by the amazing and friendly staff. Go there for a slice of paradise!

Best place to stay in Ilha Grande!

This place is just to cute. First impression was like Shire but in tropic. Breakfast is good and one morning we got service little bit earlier because of diving trip. Dorm was clean and spacious. Lockers were decent sized and back pack fitter easily in. 

Doorm was cleaned every day. Stuff was friendly and speaks good english,. You can book tickets back to main land from the hostel and wifi is also good. We booked first 2 nights but wanted to stay in Ilha Grande and took 2 nights more in this hostel.

Visiting Ilha Grande

The hostel was really good, with a wonderful garden. I can't give an higher vote because in our room there was not the mosquitos net neither the possibility to put our. The problem is that is full of mosquitos even in August and since there is the high risk of yellow fever it's compulsory for me that a nice place like that give the possibility to hang on a mosquito net. I told to the owner and hope she will provide.
