Excellent location, 100 metres from the centre and 200 metres from the beach.The rooms are simple, grouped into blocks of 3, and separated from each other by plants and trees, which makes them very quiet and quiet.The swimming pool and solarium are next to the breakfast counter and the bar, which is ideal for relaxing with a drink.The staff is very attentive and take into account the separation of materials for their recycling.

 Nature in the city.

We couldn't find accommodation and that's what we were able to get inside what we were looking for. It's a normal inn with hot shower air conditioning and the room is spacious. We stayed in the suites that are an annex to the inn. Breakfast we paid for separately and the truth is very good. At least it's the cleanliness of the rooms. At least it's the location, the breakfast and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. It also has a freezer for if you buy drinks.

That's what we found.

It is very nice at the entrance and very cozy. The rooms are beautiful and all air conditioned. Breakfast is abundant and with fresh water to drink always available. Coffee and sweets are also available for snack. Bath and shower also in the atrium. It is an old style but well maintained and with adequate and sufficient facilities to rest and relax. Very easy also the staff who always leave you space as if it were a house or a condominium. Recommended also for families and not only children. There is also Wi-Fi. Both in the room and under the entrance.

Excellent for quality price and location

Normal for what you can access on the island. Good location and reasonable price with low tickets. The breakfast was quite generous and the staff nice and friendly. No problem with the wifi. I would return to the same place if I had the opportunity.

Once you have tried staying in different pousadas, which is the typical accommodation for most visitors on Ilha Grande, you will realize that Cavalo Marinho is not bed at all. It is family driven, the staff is very attentive and will help in any way they can (I had to print, sign and scan a document urgently while I was there and they helped me with access to their little office and the works).

Breakfast is simple, but when you get your share of fresh bread, fresh fruits, home-made cake and coffee, you are good to go. Have tried worse in Stockholm and London.

The rooms are indeed very simple, again normal for Ilha Grande standards. I did not recall any problems with water or air conditioning, but we had two rooms in the ground floor and one night a roach was sightseeing on the terrace right in front of our room doors and next day I actually had an indoors roach experience. We got assistance from the hotel staff on both occasions, but it is really something that can spoil your day (until you reach your programmed beach destination, then all is forgotten).

It is a tropical island, so being completely bug-free is probably a utopia. Watch for the falling coconuts though, these are the ones that can kill you :-)

Conveniently close to the shops, harbour, supermarket and restaurants. True that you will only be able to access the internet if you seat in the common room. On the other hand, it is totally free of charge.

Price is fair, breakfast is fine, location is priviledge, staff is OK, but I thought the rooms were not clean...besides that, I found a roach in my bedroom and that surely compromised the whole experience (LOL)...

The thing is that in a place like Ilha Grande, you won't be in your room anyways when there is just so much beauty outside...For the more adventurous, camping is a good call...

OK when all you need is a place to crash at night

One of the cheapest accommodations is a large breakfast buffet, the rooms are small and a little muffled, and the plastic mattresses most irritated me, but for the price it's okay.

For the price, great.

Our double room on the second floor was very simple, with a double bed, two side tables, a coat rack, a private bathroom, and a refrigerator.  Since the room had no chairs, we only used it for sleeping and showering. The coat rack was nice for drying things though.

The shower in our room was very high flow, and had warm water. The mattress, on the other hand, was uncomfortable. Both of us sank into parts of the mattress, and it was hard to escape.

The grounds of the hotel seemed to be in the middle of some landscaping work.  It seemed that the owners live onsite in an apartment attached to the reception.

The breakfast/common patio area was right near the wireless router and actually ended up being a nice place to relax. I got a few bug bites though, that were likely from sitting on this patio at night. The wireless was reliably up, but not very fast.

When we booked, our room was supposed to have a hammock - but in reality there were only four or five hammocks strung outside the first floor rooms. Although these hammocks were likely for all guests, it felt awkward to use a hammock directly outside someones room.

An included breakfast was served daily from 8am to 10am. It was large and nicely presented, with four types of fruits, two breads, cake, meat, cheese, coffee, milk, and two juices.

Although when we booked the booking conditions on Booking.com claimed that we would be charged for 50% of the reservation upon booking, when we checked out the pousada claimed we had not been charged and charged us for the entire booking.  Upon returning home, we found that indeed we had not initially been charged upon booking - but they should change their booking conditions if they are not going to follow them.

I want to warn unwary travelers about my experience: By not having a place to hang clothes or a safe to store securities, I had the misfortune of trusting the staff and being robbed of my pants hung in a mirage for the money I had for spending on the island. In addition to the antipathy with which we were treated by the staff (except for Mrs. Fátima, the manager) I needed the room of the least furniture to establish the comfort needed for rainy days (lack of lights and nightstands, closet) In the bathroom I rotated the jaboneras and asked if I could put a fitting answer where I could. I admit that 14 days ahead of time. By other comments from the silver screen it seems that we have the privileged experience of having to pass through this site, we want to convey the privileged white lamberries to a privileged white lamberries.

Robbery in the living room

The room is simple, no more, minimal decoration, but we're not on the island to stay in the room. The bed looks new, the mattress is good, and the room is very clean. There's a hammock for each room for the afternoon naps if you still don't want to be at the beach... the service is excellent, he's always been there to help us, to inform us. The breakfast is fresh, simple and very good.
