Location was great albeit we did get lost finding it! Breakfast was delicious, freshly made. Communal cooking area avaliable.  Our room slept 10 with 4 bunk beds, not a lot of space but to be expected! Small lockers provided. Cutest floral bedding gave it a homely feel and a towel. Also a place to hang wet clothes to dry and an area to wash sandy feet before going into rooms which was good. The only downside was the smell in our room, maybe a mattress?? We weren't sure where it came from. Joseph (the owner) was the best thing about this place, kind and funny. Gave my boyfriend and I free beers when we were chatting to him and when I accidentally paid him an extra 100reals he kindly gave it back!! Offered us to use his paddle board, nothing was too much trouble.

We had a great stay here and I really recommend the hostel - clean, comfortable and friendly.

There are sea views (photo attached), modern rooms with wooden beds and lockers for your valuables. The hostel also has a great breakfast - fresh fruits with bread, ham, cheeses and and eggs cooked however you like them!

The owner and his mum (?) were so nice and accommodating. My friend got sick on our last day and he let us check out late for free, offered to come with us and translate for the doctor, and shared his lychees with me when I went to check on her later :) it really made everything a lot less stressful than it could have been. Thank you!

Great place to stay

This hostel is located only 2 minutes from the beach, it also has a nice view on the first floor. José, the owner, tells us his joy of living! He is listening and speaks French; he even accompanied us on a snorkeling trip on several beaches of the island (to do absolutely) The hostel is clean, has wifi, a kitchen as well as hot water. The beds in which we slept were in height (room 6). I recommend it 100% for its excellent quality/price ratio The breakfast was rather complete (bread, butter, jam, eggs, butter, ham, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juice).

Very good hostel.

The only bad thing I can say about this hostel is that it was initially hard to find and Google maps and maps.me has it located incorrectly.

Apart from that everything about our stay here was good. The owner is legend, speaks good English and is happy to chat and joke with you. He will sometimes throw you something for free whether it's a beer, bottle of water for the day or a towel. There's a family run feel about this hostel. 

The breakfast is particularly good and they make eggs to order when you come down.

It's a little out the way but if that doesn't bother you I'd definitely recommend. 



Great hostel, owner is a legend but a little hard to find

It was a hostel, which we had to book at the last minute. The rooms, it has laundry service, shower, air. It was cheap, but not comfortable. The shower water, it sells like a finite stream. The hostel, it has a location that if you don't know it is a little complicated to manage, once ubiquitous, then you get used to. The hostel owner was full, you gave breakfast. But if you could, book in time and in advance; I could pick other people in the center for the same price.

Anticipation is the key.

I stayed here with a friend and really enjoyed it.  The room and kitchen were super clean and the bathroom seemed like it was newly renovated.  The owner made sure that everyone was back before closing for the night.  He was interested in learning about where we were from and does speak english for those that do no speak portuguese.  Would stay here again!

Great host, perfect for Ilha Grande

The hostel is located in the back of Vila do Abraao, but since the city is so small it does not really make a difference. The breakfast is good and the rooms are even better. Unfortunately we had cold showers, but the effort of the owners made up for everything. They were the most helpfull, joyfull people I have ever met. They stood up at 5:00 am to provide us an early breakfast for a day of hiking and he even ran to the speedboat when we are leaving to deliver some forgotten items. I would definitely recommond this place.

Great family business

This hostel was ideal for us traveling in Ilha grande. Run by the nicest family that we have come across. The rooms where very clean and the staff where always willing to
Help us. Ideal location as set away from the beach but near enough that you can get there in under 5 mins. 

100% would return to this hostel

It is very well located. The rooms are large, each with its own private bathroom. It has a kitchen with everything necessary. In addition, it is a very clean place. It is noticeable in the bathrooms and in the kitchen. The common space is a little small, but it is totally possible to accommodate. The breakfast is quite good. With options for bread and fruit. I recommend it with my eyes closed.

Excellent place to stay.

Harmony is a hostel with a very good atmosphere, the people who work here are great and very helpful, they help you with everything you need. It has a good location and a beautiful view, the kitchen is well equipped and the rooms too. The only thing that needs to be improved is the air conditioning, which is two extremes at times very cold and sometimes very hot but also not very dependent on the hostel as the light on the island normally cuts out.
