Upon check in my room door would NOT close.  They then proceeded to fix it and told me there was a loose screw and that someone must have closed the door incorrectly.  I then stated that I would like another room for security purposes.  They offered me the bungalo with the last night transfer to another room at which I accepted.  They then proceeded to tell me that there was an extra charge if I wanted it (after they offered it to me).  I told them no and that I was ready to upgrade when I originally checked in and was told there were no options available for the bungalo and that now I would NOT pay an upgrade fee because of their lack of maintenance on the room they booked me in.  I accepted staying in another room that they "found" because I really have no other option.  The hotel is not organized, does not maintain simple security measures as door locks and lacks customer service skills.  

Birthday weekend ruined

The place is unique in it's ambiance and the fact it sits by be waterfront. The views are amazing, especially if you stay in the bungalows. Breakfast is very good - amazing tapiocas (if you never had one, try). Staff is friendly and attentive. Will go out of their way to assist you.
The pool is not too big and the Inn in general is best suited for people who spend the day outdoors: at the beaches, waterfalls, etc... There is not much to do there during the day. However, you'd want to come back to catch the sunset by the seaside deck or while relaxing in the Jacuzzi. 
I highly recommend this unique place if you're visiting Ilhabela.

Beautiful, scenic and quiet

The place is really nice high recommend just one negative point is the staff doesn’t speak English but besides that they are so good and friendly.
The location is really in a good place next to the ferry and they have a private beach 
I restaurants around the hotel as well

Cosy hotel

The place has a very nice structure, pool, jacuzzi, small fitness room, sauna. Tip: choose for the rooms located with the beach view, close to the jacuzzi. The rooms located close to the reception desk are good as well except for the street noise.

Nice rooms, good location

We stayed three nights here when we visited Ilhabela. The location was nice at the beach with a small pool. Had a standard room, which was nice, only the balcony was useless, right in front of a wall. Thought 340BRL per night was a bit too expensive

I recently stayed at Pousada Vila das Velas for my brothers wedding which was held at the hotel. 

With a small beach stepping down from decking and nice pool overlooking the sea, it provided a fantastic backdrop for the wedding ceremony itself. 

Over the course of the four days I stayed in two different rooms. The first was a lovely twin room which had everything that you need. The second room was a lovely bungalow right on the sea front with a lovely mezzanine level to sleep on. 

Being a Pousada, it's more like a B&B than a hotel so there isn't a lot of facilities on site. Breakfast every morning was lovely, with a wide selection of fresh fruit, bread, sausage, eggs and even cake!

Dream Wedding

You can choose to rent a room or a bungalow. We have rented a room and it's was beautiful. It's like how I want my bedroom to be like. :) Modern bathroom, good bed and cosy interior.
Amazing breakfast, free bicycles and helpfull staff! 

Just watch out if you call a taxi. They already start charging from the taxipoint, so when he arrives to pick you up, you already will have like 15 reais on the meter. That was a little surprise but nothing the hotel could do about. It's the way it works in Ilhabela.
I recommend the pousada!
