A decent budget place that is ok for short stays of 1 or 2 nights...very centrally located a short walk from Teatro Amazonas and heaps of eating places. Rooms are a bit 'aged', but have ok bathroom, TV and some shelving for storage. Room I stayed in had an old wall mounted 'rattler' air-con missing some control knobs and made quite a bit of noise when used.
No breakfast. Has a tour desk downstairs which seems popular and it seems various tour companies depart from outside the front door.
Easily booked online and no upfront payment or deposit is required. A middle aged guy at reception was very friendly, but 1 younger guy seemed rather disinterested in providing info.

okay centrally located budget hotel for short stay

We came to Manaus at night and wanted to stay as centrally as possible at the theatre.The location is very centrally located,the price was about 22€,the staff was unfriendly,the rooms were accommodated and furnished in a basic way.There was no breakfast when we asked about it,it was said that it was no longer available and we were referred to a corner restaurant,which offered no breakfast.The next day we moved directly to a more friendly hotel with swimming pool.

Well, in case of an emergency, it's okay.

We stayed 2 nights. It is very well located, a few blocks from the Amazon Theater, the double room costs 60 reales. It has good wifi. No includes breakfast. The room was spacious although it did not have many shelves.

Clean and quiet.

I stayed only one night, and I booked it only for convenience as it was very late and I had to be very early at the same street agency.A very simple room, with noisy ventilator and a very simple, small bathroom.There are air-conditioned rooms.My room would not recommend it to anyone who wants to stay more than one night.

Very simple/simple

The situation is great! But that's the only good thing. Those who had booked this accommodation through a booking portal were suddenly asked to pay double the price when they checked in. After long discussions, including with an employee of a neighbouring jungle tour, we only had to pay the booked price. The room had fallen down quite a bit, but had a bed and a bathroom. But I would recommend another accommodation at this location.

For a good night

I've stayed at 10 de Julho many times over the past 20 years and the reason I always return is because of the quality of service I receive.  There are much nicer (and pricier) hotels in the downtown area and there are also cheaper options, but for price and location 10 de Julho cannot be beat.  

I spent two weeks here last summer with a group of US students and when it came time to select a hotel, the ultimate deciding factor was that I trust the people who run this place.  I can leave my laptop, passport, cash etc. lying about and never have to worry (they do have a safe if you're concerned).  Though lacking in some of the amenities you will find at pricier locations, they provide free breakfast (not quite as good as it was in the past as the juice options no longer feature the wonderful variety of fresh Amazonian delicacies they had in the past-eu quero o meu suco de acerola!), clean rooms, and an unbeatable location just a block and a half from the teatro.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel experience, this is not the place for you.  If you're looking for a clean, SAFE, reasonably priced, and well-located place to shower and rest your head while not out exploring then you cannot go wrong at 10 de Julho.

My favorite place to stay in Manaus

I stayed here with my 2 daughters only for one night before leaving for our adventure in the Amazon jungle. I booked the hotel only because of the location in the heart of Manaus, very close to the famous Amazonas Theatre. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.We had an air-conditioned, but very simple standard room. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Great location

My wife and I were only here for one night to travel to the jungle the next day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple but clean and simple.

Holidays

The main advantage of the hotel is its geographical location in the city centre, right next to the main square where the theatre is located. The other advantage is that it can pay in blue card which is relatively rare in hotels in Brazil. The rooms are ultra simple, not very cozy (it makes a little hospital room...) but clean. Possibility of air conditioned rooms but the climate is extremely noisy.

A good hotel with nothing more.

We traveled with a group that stayed four nights, we did it alone one day and then moved to another.The soap was consulted by how many people were in the room and delivered to you at the reception, like Cuba, without shampoo, without bedding, on the top floor there was an older part, in which was our room, dirty, mattresses that were mattresses, at dawn doves between chapas and skyrocket that were a concert, breakfast without anything, flies running around, the air in the lobby disconnected, at certain times due to its ownership by an elderly and very advanced person!
