We stayed at Mamori for three nights in two rooms. Despite being located in the beautiful Amazonas, our experience with Mamori Lodge was disgraceful. The rooms were dirty and smelled so bad, no hot water or no water at all, no room cleaning at all, (these rooms were not fit for human being to stay at). We also had to beg for toilet paper, we had to “fight” for food as the owner was always making sure the amount of food served will be less than the amount of the miserable guests. 
That was the most unpleasant and not welcoming experience we have ever had (we have been travelling in Brazil for a few weeks and enjoyed many lovely lodges with a great Brazilian hospitality). The appalling attitude of the owner and her employees is shameful and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone to go through such a bad experience, nevertheless in the amazing Amazonas.

Dirty and disrespectful

Our bed has A LOT of ticks and bugs, the cottage is full of termites and the roof has so many bats that you can't sleep with the noise!
I trusted on the recommendations and found that the hotel is abandoned but they still charge the same price (more expensive than Juma lodge)
If you want to waste two days of your vacation feeling sick with food, this is the place: there is no food for everybody and some plates had strange and sour taste.
The guides are good in the forest and the adventure guided by then is awesome, but the structure is terrible, deplorable and DANGEROUS! I don’t recommend!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

The chales are very good, with a couple's bed and a bachelor's bed, bathroom with water supply, good food, very good employees, I made friends with a guide by the nickname of hairy, a very special Indian girl, Toniel he was our tour guide.

I stayed at chale n5 the wifi couldn't reach the router and it was short range.

The hostel is nice, but our cottage was delivered with the shower on the hot/pelando, they didn't even check it out before releasing the room, we had to take a bath in another cottage after the guests left. The food is simple, but good, the waiter Cassio and the kitchen staff are very attentive and helpful, the same is not the case with the pilots... Without a doubt the worst fishing experience ever with pilots sailing Amazia, they fish in front of the houses of the riverboats where several times the same were fishing next to our lake had to kill all the fish they caught! The Mamori fish is huge, but we all come to the same places every day, the bad pilots are incredible!

Horrible Pilots

In fact, I took my 70-year-old father with me, and when I got there, I was surprised that I would have to stay at the fishermen's house.

I paid for the cottage, stayed at the pilot's house.

The adventure begins with the transport from Manaus to Pousada, car, boat, Kombi, boat,rsrs. The look of the Pousada is beautiful, great care from the wife and family, the cottage is comfortable.

For sport fishermen from Tucunaré and other adventurous storytellers.

I highly recommend, great location and very good receptivity, a luxurious restaurant, whenever I get the chance, I'll go to this wonderful place, and the best time to go is on vacation, or if you prefer the months of September to December.

Very good location

We stayed at this Pousada for 3 nights / 3 days, paying R$1000/each. I did not expect any luxury given the fact that we were staying in the Amazon forest however I could never expect to pay a lot of money to stay in a poorly maintained bungalow and left on our own by the owners of this property during our stay.

When we got to the Pousada, we were greeted by our tour coordinator called Cynthia. By the time we went to our bungalow for a quick nap and came back to the reception at 2pm to start our tour, we found out that she had already gone back to Manaus.

At that point, the staff did not know about our tour itinerary that were provided to us when we paid for our stay. We then witnessed a huge argument between the staff and Graca, the owner, who had just called the Pousada. There was not even petrol available to take us on our first boat tour. The owner also forgot to mention that this was the beginning of the rainy season so we would not see any igapos and igarapes.

One of the guys that works at the Pousada paid for the petrol with his own money so that we would not miss our first boat trip as defined in our schedule.

Over the following days, there were always issues with our itinerary that thanks to the amazing staff at the Pousada were promptly resolved. The owner simply did not care to resolve the problems herself or give us any explanations.

Our accommodations were very basic. The mattress was so thin that every morning we would wake up with a back and neck pain. When we were moved to another bungalow, the owner complained that we had not paid for the other bungalow (they were pretty much all the same!!). The windows and door of the bungalow could not be closed properly so all sorts of bugs and small frogs would come into our room every night.  The bathroom smelled of sewage. There were trips that were not even worth leaving the Pousada such as visiting the Casa do Caboclo - there is simply nothing interesting to see there and you are asked to pay a small fee to the Caboclo to keep the place. We felt that some trips were just an excuse to fill our time. When we went on the boat trips, there were no life jackets available.  

The only positive thing about staying at this Pousada was the amazing staff that despite all the circumstances took great care of us during our stay, making sure that we had the best time we could. They cooked us delicious meals using local ingredients and fresh fish everyday. Our tour guide Adriano was also awesome - he is a very energetic and friendly guy who is passionate about the Amazon forest. 

I have traveled to over 30 countries and this is by far one of the worst places I have ever been to. I wish I hadn't paid that much of money to stay at this place.

Disappointing, overpriced and unsafe

The place is far enough from Manaus to make it a real jungle experience, but not so far to require multi-day travel or airfare to get there.  It's 55 miles as the crow flies, but you'll get there in 2-3 hours by van, then boat (where you will see the meeting of the waters of the Rio Solimoes and Rio Negro), then van, then boat again.   On the way you'll enjoy great views, riverside markets displaying with so many different types of fresh (still moving) river fish, and a taste of the Amazon lifestyle, all water based with little or no land access: boats and canoes puttering in every direction, houses on stilts, general stores on floating barges.

The pousada is clean, comfortable, with a main house for dining and hanging out, and separate bungalows for the guests.  The place is in a great location, perched on a low cliff right on the river, awesomely nice people, amazing vistas, a jungle walk immediately behind the place, wildlife all around.  The food is served family/buffet style, and it is plenty and good, and typical of the region, with lots of river fish and maybe some crocodile as well.  Right around the area we saw plenty of toucan, pink river dolphin, crocs, sloths, monkeys, iguanas, and a stunning number of birds.  I most remember the stunning views and the incessant and constantly varying sounds of the jungle.  

Diogo, your host, is awesome, always in a good mood, always laughing, always helpful, and he is a master at taking group selfies.  My wife and I went in late May 2015, which is high water season, so the river banks were flooded, the views were expansive, and you could canoe between the trees in search of wildlife.  The excursions included with our stay were fun.   If you want more adventure they have several guides that can accomodate.   For example, during our stay a couple went off into the jungle with one of the guides for a 2-3 days of hiking and primitive camping.  

So, would I recommed the place?  Absolutely!  Would I return?  I am already planning on doing so already!

Great authentic Amazon experience

We booked a 2 day and one night tour with amazon backpaers agency. we had a private guide that stayed over night at this hotel (hotel gave his a place to sleep). We speak portuguese and the service was great! the hotels manager Diogo was super friendly, in fact everyone was. Just make sure to know this hotel is very simple, we had AC in our room (make sure to ask for it). food was included..we had lots of fish! the hotel had no internet while we were there... but apparently they are receiving it as of saturday. I recommend this place for someone who has a private guide, and sans a peaceful place!! a place to relax by the pool, go fishing, walk in the forest. there really is not much to do there other than that. they had 1 TV in the main dinning room that you can watch brazlian TV with globo (soap opera) soccer, etc...
