The hostel was great, I went on my own and the place is so sociable I met so many people who I will definitely stay in contact with.
Mariano who works there is amazing! He really made the stay, helped when needed and was always there to look after the guests, recommending the best places to go, especially during carnival.
Will 100% stay here again. Had the best time.

We stayed at the Leblon hostel. Weak points: - cleanliness of the sdbs - breakfast - almost no kitchen to eat - Strength points: - proximity to the beach - delicious cocktails - broken prices (109€/5 nights/2 persons)

It's for small budgets.

First of all I know you get what you pay for and this place is cheap. So if the price is the most important thing to you then go for it.

Also it’s in a great location and the staff we met (Catarina and Gaspa) are very well informed and incredibly helpful.

However it’s tatty, not that clean and really could do with some work. The window in our room (room 5) was smashed which meant as soon as traffic started in the morning we were all woken up as it was really loud. The window being open also nullified the air con. If we were coming to Rio again I’d stay in Santa Teresa or somewhere else to be honest.

Great location. Great staff. But ... Hostel needs work!

Great hostel in amazing place. For us the stay started from a really nice evening caiparinha, then continued with great parties and ended up on samba evening in the restaurat. It's extra close to beach, mountain of Dois Irmaos, and baisically everywhere in the city. The hostel staff is extra friendly and helpfull, and the restaurant downstairs is serving delicious food and drinks! The best of it all is the garden of the restaurant, where you can easily meet other guests of the hostel and spend nice time. Love you guys, hope to see ya soon!

Best place in Rio

I just had a fantastic time with my friends at Lemon Spirit Hostel. We had a few drinks and a couple of shared plates and everything was great. Also the staff was very friendly, which made our night even better!

it´s not what it seems, an open bar down stais with no common places. rooms are small, The lockers are totally unsafe, no breackfast included, dirty and noisy, the girl in the receptionhas to attend the both the Bar`s and Hostel`s clients at the same time. It´s to expensive, I DONT recomend this place at all

IT`S A BAR NOT A HOSTEL

So this newly renovated hostel was just ok. The best thing I can say about it is it's location. Just one block from the beach and lots of shops and dining you can't ask for a better place to be.
The metro is close and you can walk to the Botanical Garden or cocabana beach all under 30 minutes.
The other positive was the front desk staff and servers. They were very helpful, funny,smiling, and could speak great English. Made the stay enjoyable.
The reason for the lower score were the cleanliness was not the greatest, the bathroom s were old and falling a part and the downstairs bar wasn't as social as I would have hoped. They could have used a pool table or something.
The cleaning staff were rude and slow. They also would move your stuff without telling you.
All in all I would probably recommend it based on the location alone. If the other things are corrected I would never leave


Location is key

The hostel was under a huge construction site which wasn’t just messy but also loud and took away a lot of common space that is usually used to socialize. They could at least have mentioned it or lower the price. 
The bathrooms might have been cleaned every day but it honestly did not feel like it. The beds are very old and therefor loud and feel unstable. The WiFi almost never worked. 
I recommend to go somewhere else, it can only be better than this hostel. 
I stayed 5 nights and was supposed to stay for 9. I really tried to shut my eyes and ears but I couldn’t for much longer anymore. 
The service is friendly but just as friendly as needed I can imagine they were stressed out by the very loud noise of the construction as well. 



Absurd

If you go to a hostel for the experience, Lemon spirit satisfies you! And it does it very well!
I would recommend you to check out and leave at the morning, because at the late afternoon, it becomes a bit emotional: the atmosphere is very friendly, with every one  sharing stories about their day and planning what to do next... The location is in a very safe area, cheap restaurants around, and a nice smoothie place (big polis) with super delicious Açai. I was there in July 2018, the team members working there were very kind and helpful, giving good tips about bars and restaurants where to go.

The room are as per the description, nothing more nothing less, bathroom could be improved, but on a good note there is a cleaning lady that devotes her entire days making sure that everything is clean! She cannot control what people do after she leaves though! 

Definitely a good place where to stay for a trip on a budget!

Great choice

Just absolutely loved it in every way. The rooms aren’t the biggest, granted. However, who goes to Rio to spend time in their room? The atmosphere at the Lemon Spirit is wonderful and the staff are so happy and friendly. It’s a really sociable hostel with great chill out places and a nice outside area. Breakfast is top and security is on point. Haven’t got a bad word to say! Thank you all for making our time in Rio unforgettable 😘
