First of all, I liked Celeste's attention, we went as tourists with very little Portuguese and for the first time in Rio took the time to take us to the bus stop and also called us on the cell phone to see if we were okay on the ride.

 The ideal location.

Ever since we arrived everything went very well. Celeste is a wonderful person, really very kind. The room was always very clean and comfortable, the location in front of the Maracanã Stadium, perfect for us. The breakfast was excellent and very well served. Really a great choice.

The best B&B I've ever known!

I stayed at Casa de Celeste for New Year's Eve 2016. It was super easy to find, a little ways from the nearest metro, but on quite a few handy bus routes. It is directly opposite Maracana stadium (perfect for games and events). The top floor terrace with a view over the stadium is a real bonus hang-out spot. 

Celeste herself is a wonderful hostess, very kind and patient. She kept breakfast out for me until the very late morning, after I woke up late due to jet lag. Breakfast was hot and wholesome! I really recommend this place.

Wonderful Hostess

We loved our four night stay with  Celeste as a family of four, she could not have made us more welcome in her beautiful home and her breakfast was the best we have had in our 6months of travelling so far. She is full of helpful tips to make the most of your stay and walked with us to the bus stop to show us how to make our way around, as well as helping us to buy tickets for one of the games at the Maracana.
Being located opposite the Maracana means it's really easy to find your way around the city as it such an easy landmark to identify and there are great links by metro and bus to all the key sights as well as being near some not so obvious ones such as Sao Cristavo a beautiful park . Celeste makes you feel so at home here you won't want to ever leave, and I'm so glad we stayed with her , she made our time in Rio even better in such a wonderful city.

Your Brazilian Home

Celeste, the owner made all of us feel at home and was always so helpful with any questions we had about the city, driving directions, tickets, shopping, and any other questions we could come up with, and she was always willing to help with a smile. Breakfast was always delicious and made with love, just like home. I can't say enough compliments about Celeste. And she spoke good English too which is sometimes hard to come by when travelling brazil.

We were also allowed to use the washing machine for free which was a bonus!

On the top floor/rooftop there is a large area where we could do a barbecue and have a few drinks. 

Location is right in front of Maracana Stadium which is great if you're there to watch a game. It's a little far from the beaches of Copacobana and Ipanema, but the metro is only a 5-10 minute walk away, which we used regularly even though we had a car (there is a secure parking spot where you can park your car for free).

It's not a place you stay if you plan to party day in day-in day-out in Rio, but if you want a comfortable place to stay away from home, this is the place to be.

Home away from home!

This is a cozy B&B with a lovely lady running it.  She will provide help with Portuguese and give you directions, help, advice and whatever other support / assistance you might like to have.  Very personable and really wants to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

It is right across the road from the Maracana stadium and so an ideal location if you are there for a sporting event at the stadium. 

Breakfast is home made and made with love (sweet and savoury pastries, eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereal, fresh fruit etc ...  very nice !).

The only downside was that we stayed during the world cup when the B&B was extremely busy and so were not able to stay in the nice room with a balcony etc.  The room we had did not have a window to the outside / no view, but the room was still reasonably comfortable.  Despite the room we had, Celeste more than made up for it and we had a wonderful stay. 

Also, it is reasonably convenient for restaurants, Tijuca shopping centre and the Metro where you can get to the old part of Rio as well as beaches, Sugar Loaf etc on the underground train.  

Free wifi.
