Old hotel, poorly educated reception and lack of truth. Charges in case of a break or an untimely departure, which is contrary to the CDC. Bad breakfast. Dirty bathroom with lime in the stands. My air conditioner broke down and the reception said I would upgrade, but then lied and put me in another apartment as bad as it is. Better to stay in Good Times, that people are polite and attentive. I don't recommend, a mineral water sold for 5 reais, that's absurd. Everything is expensive and of no quality.

Horrible, bad, ugly

It's very expensive for nothing. HORRIVEL bed. It's a small room compared to other hotel networks. The mattress of the bed was level, with holes. The garage doesn't have all the cars and yours can be on the street or in front of the hotel in an open area. You can't call it an academy.

It's ridiculously expensive for nothing.

We were passing through the city and staying at the Gelps Hotel. Careful and agile service! It has its own parking lot. We stayed in a suite, with large space. Modest decoration and the same bedline. Very good breakfast and common space as well.

Good Hospitality

It's the second time we've stayed in this hotel. Even after a while, we realized that the hotel is very well cared for. Well located. Very good hotel. Very good service. Very good room, with what is needed for a good stay. Very comfortable bed. Very good bathroom. Very good breakfast. The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna, gym. Good option to spend a few days. We recommend.

Very good and well located

Despite the good location, the busy breakfast and excellent service, the hotel needs upgrades. The bathroom and bedroom are tight. The mattress is old. There are no rooms in the room. To access the garage you need to call the front desk. The elevators were out of service at check-out.

It's not what I expected.

Great hotel, spacious, clean room, great breakfast, private parking, good internet, very helpful staff, 24-hour reception, great location right in the city centre.

I 'd recommend it.

We were at this hotel for the weekend of November 16-18, 2018. When we checked in, we didn't really feel welcome. She didn't find our names and didn't really want to bother finding them and said that they were booked. After a long walk around, she found our reservation. The rooms are very simple and not clean. When the bathroom didn't work at night, we called the receptionist to see if anyone could fix it. Then the man who usually parked the cars came and said he couldn't fix it and it wasn't until the other day that staff did it again. He offered us a few more towels around the wet floor on his own.

Not to be recommended.

We stayed here while on business in Rio Verde. My room was plenty big and clean. The air conditioner worked well. Breakfast was good, with a variety of breads, fruits, pastries, etc. the area doesn’t lend itself to walking around outside, although we did walk to a restaurant a few blocks away for dinner. I’ve never been to Rio Verde before, so I can’t compare Gelps to other hotels.

Good hotel in Rio Verde

Great for a nice stop in Rio Verde.
Clean rooms and fast wifi. Just fine for a business trip in the area. Dinner was good along with a simple breakfast. Have a small gym area but didn't use it.

Would stay again. Would recommend to others. 

Nice hotel and clean and great wifi, a rarity for Brazil

Unfortunately Rio Verde is not big enough for too many good hotels but after my experience here I think I will true the Blue Tree even I did not like my experience in the Blue Tree Morumbi in Sao Paulo (see review)! The hotel lobby is new and clean and very pretty. I was upgraded into a bigger room because I wanted a better bathroom because when I saw the pictures of the bathroom I knew i was in for a small room, I got a much bigger room but the bathroom was just as bad, just BIG and bad.

The rooms are clean, the air conditioning units work but if you don't speak or read Portguese you will do what I did and freeze all night because you will not be able to figure out how to use the remote for the ac unit and you will lose a lot of sleep. No comforters either, just a very old blanket to grab which I had to do I had no choice and I don't know how long this blanket has been around or where they got it from, it looks like something you'd find in the attic of your grandmother's house that has been there for 40 years. Made my nervous to even touch it but what can you do, I had to use it or freeze and still I got no sleep.

The bed was comfortable and clean and the sheets were fairly soft. But the bathroom was another horror. Old, humid, smelled like rust and oldness. Once again it took all my willpower to take a shower in this bathroom with these towels. Thank goodness I travel with flip flops I would never in a million years put my feet on any of these bathroom floors I have been in where I travel lately. All I will say is the maids don't clean very well either they missed a few things in the room as well.

Once again my mantra rings true...it is worth spending more for a better hotel. In this case however I spent more for an upgraded room thinking like a stupid American that the bathroom would be nicer not just bigger and what did I get? A bigger room which I didnt need and a huge bathroom with the same smell and ickiness that would have greeted me in the smaller room and I paid for it like the sucker I am. Oh well, still cheaper than any American hotel that's for sure! Also the shower door was broken and didn't close properly so water got everywhere on the floor, and there was no hot water in the morning and the showerhead was covered in lime so there was no water coming out of it...you get the picture....

And the breakfast was really bad. Most stuff was under nets because they open the room to the outside and there are flies everywhere! I didn't dare eat anything with the amount of flies around...I stuck to the bread which in Brazil is super good given the Portugal influence. But never have I seen so much food in room temperature in a country where room temp food is really not something you want to be serving anyone. So much so that all the fruit was under netting there were so many pests around. Ick.

But at least when they came in to "clean" nothing was stolen so this is good!!! I feel this hotel is trustworthy and I didn't feel unsafe in this hotel but if I stay in Rio Verde again I will give the competition a try before I stay again.
