Our birding group stayed here for two days.   The position is lovely right by the ocean and the restaurant looks out over the swimming pool.   The wifi in my room was good and the food was good at the restaurant.   The room however was dated.  it was small and basic.   The bathroom only had cold water at the sink and the heater for the shower did not work.   However the room was cleaned nicely.  I could only find one outlet behind the bed and there was no drinking water supplied or safe in the room.

My first time at this hotel, actually, I’m sort of impressed by the staff services, which are friendly and welcoming. They are everywhere to assist you. If you need a towel at pool side, just wave and one of the staffs will approach you to be at your service with smile. Pool is not so great, but at least it’s clean. There are 2 pools for adult and kid. The restaurant is a bit tricky, it’s sitting right at shore where you might just have missed it at first time here. At least, I missed the entrance... lol... took me a bit of time to figure out where the location is, sincerely, ask a staff to point the entrance for you. There are many activities for you to enjoy... come and find out yourself.

Saturday Night Getaway

The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean from the entrance. The pool area is nice and relaxing. Breakfast was very good! There are many options of fruit, breads, cakes and regional delicacies (tapioca made on the spot). The rooms are ok. The bed isn't very confortable. The air conditioning is noisy, the bedding and towels are stained.  The staff was polite and gave me  an extra pillow and sheet when I asked for it. The rooms were cleaned every day. It is not an expensive hotel, so I guess you get what you pay for (considering the rooms). About wifi, they have it in the main areas, but not in the rooms. My cellphone internet was also not available in the room ( it faced a wall). 

Room for improvement!

I have stayed at this hotel many times since we had our honeymoon here 36 years ago. 
The Positives: It is well situated on the quiet side of Salinopolis with a nice calm atmosphere (except in the holiday season i.e. July and bank holiday weekends) and good views out over the estuary and sea from the front of the hotel. The food is generally good if a bit expensive and the staff are friendly and generally (see below) helpful. 
The Negative: The hotel now seems very dated in some areas, particularly the bathrooms. It can be very quiet mid week out of season. During our most recent stay the kitchen was shut on one day and the banisters were varnished without any prior warning or explanation.
The Big Negative: They only had Heineken beer. Now I don't particular like Heineken but the point is that there are many local beers (Cerpa, Amazon Beer etc.) and when in Brazil I like to drink Brazilian (not Dutch). I pointed this out to the staff and rather than sending someone to the local supermarket to provide more variety on the beer front they said they would ask for it to be ordered. In the three days we were there it didn't arrive. Surprise surprise, the hotel is festooned with Heineken signs.

The food and communial are really very good, the staff although slow do care and will eventulally get your order (the bar man is on the ball). 
The food is good, but the rooms are not clean and there are some communial areas (see the stair case) which needs a good clean.
The sheets were dirty, with stains and pubic hair!!, on request they were changed, but next day ... dirty sheets again!. watch out for the tropical roches, but the hotel were quick to sort it out and spray the room after dealing with the 3" bug.
The Hotel could be Good or excellant with a little more care and attention to detail
