Lack of communication. 
No one speaks English Micromanagement- The manager penny pinches everything. She felt us a long message complaining about us needing extra towels, when we asked for a handtowel and soap that the house keeper did not leave. She only gives you one towel per person every three days.She wanted to charge us $1usd every time we needed to use another towel . I felt that it was unsanitary to use the same towel all over your body and face for 3 days. I felt that the staff watched every move and got annoyed when we asked for simple things like an extra blanket ,because she has a small thin hard throw on the bed that is not large enough for even a child. The hotel does not give you the basic needs for you stay , especially if you are long term . This place is not equipped to handle long term clients. A day or two here is okay . Ants are in the room and bathroom and crawl all over everything. Shower pressure is too soft , but it does get warm The TV does not offer any channels in English, nor subtitles. The hotel we moved to had atleast American CNN. The staff makes you feel unwelcome when you need extra things , due to the lack of basic needs that they provide . Only one staff member made us truly feel welcomed 
No  elevator for the elderly. Only stairs 
Do not even think about asking for extra pillows. They are flat and outdated and only want to give you 2. They complained that they do not have enough The building is outdated and need renovation , decor is ugly, windows make loud noises, our bathroom doorknob was broken when we arrived and it locked my mother inside the bathroom . Took them 3 days to come in to tighten it. Only saw one hammock hanging up , and never saw any guest use it. Website states she has a gift shop and it's just a curio cabinet Rooms are small and basic. You would do better off getting a hotel a little further in( Garra) and catching a uber to the beach. Ubers are cheap in Brazil
The Garra area is upscale, near downtown and barra beach .

Did not enjoy my stay

A really nice pausada where mrs. Lorena welcomes you as a family member . There is everything you need, very good breakfast and you are 2 minute walk from the ocean and Barra Lighthouse. Yes I recomend it as a first choice for your visit in Salvador.

Nice ti ve in Barra

Very good pousada!  Staff very nice and friendly. The room clean. The breakfast very good!

They accept only cash, that was the problem because when I booked from trip advisor didn't say anywhere was only cash payment. Also I had to filled up all credit card info, so I thought they accepted the credit card. 

For sure, there's a problem on trip advisor, on web. I don't know who should solve it. The pousada, booking or trip advisor.

I really appreciate the kindness of the stuff. The puosada is really clean and it is well located in barra. The breakfast is very abundant and of a good quality. The price is not expensive. I really suggest this place  

Kind and polite staff

This pousada is in a good location and is decently priced.  The neighborhood seemed pretty safe.  The staff, despite not knowing English was very nice and helpful.  They always had the google translator up if you needed to communicate.  Good wifi.  Good hot water and water pressure in the shower.  The breakfast was pretty good and I think they changed it around a little each morning so you're not always eating the same thing.  I think someone else mentioned this, but the windows were a bit noisy when hit by the wind.  That didn't bother me much though so I'll still give them 5 stars.

I liked it 

The pousada is very well located. The room we had was classy and sober, clean and quite big, with a nice shower. The persons that work at the pousada are adorable, they almost consider you as family, even though they don't speak english, but we used Google Translation and it was funny. The breakfast is really good. Really don't hesitate to go !
