Good winds from Marajó

It's been days of peace and quiet, all very simple, not very luxurious, but the attendants make all the difference, they are undoubtedly the soul of this place.

A Good Place to Relax

The hostel is located on the island of Marajó, on the beach of Joanes. The view is beautiful. The place has a good (and simple) breakfast. I warn that the hostel does not have a hot water shower (it is very difficult to find in the region). The beach is wonderful, the water is warm and sweet.

The service is good, the place is pleasant, but for example the plastic faucet in the bathroom is hard to open and the mosquito net is full of holes are simple things to solve and that would make me evaluate the hostel better

Good, but missing simple details.

A fantastic place to relax, in front of the beautiful beach of Joanes on the island of Marajó. A paradise. The place has no TV, but you don't need it, you chat and have a good wine with delicious fish. The rooms have no air conditioning, but the name of the place already says it all: VENTANIA. Everything is very clean. No hot shower, but it also doesn't need it, the water comes out of the shower very tasty. The people who work in the hostel are very hospitable. I was afraid when I went there, but today I am sure I will repeat.

Total relaxation

Our staying in the pousada Ventania do Rio-Mar was great. It is a place for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view. The pousada is located in a small village Joanes at 20 km from Salvaterra. Rooms are simple but very clean.

Great place

Located in Joanes, a small village on the beautifully lost island of Marajo, the hotel perched on a small rock offers a beautiful view of Joanes beach. The breakfast is excellent, very good homemade jams, the rooms are simple but convenient. This is the only pousada in the village. We do not recommend swimming because the water on the beach is a little dirty. This place is great if you want to rest and do nothing.

Ideal for rest

Simple hotel, nice and clean. From the hotel you go directly to the beach. Very nice staff. No expectations of luxury! But I think it's worth it. Normal breakfast: bread, cheese, fruit and coffee with milk. Very recommended the kitchen: always fresh fish! Very attentive and friendly staff. Don't forget mosquito repellent.

For the adventure.

Pousada Ventania is situated in the village of Joanes. Highly recommended: clean, good service, superb location with splendid view.
When arriving on the island, make sure you get in the right van that will bring you to the very entrance of the pousada. If a driver should tell you that there are "no pousadas in the village of Joanes", it is because he receives a commission from other competitors on the market. This should in no case let you change your plans. A stay @ Ventania is worth the while.

Worth the while!

This is the only hotel in the area of Joanes on Ilha de Marajo, not in Salvaterra as listed above. The location is amazing with direct acces to the beach. There is a resident monkey that shows up once in a while for a banana! Rooms are clean, mosquito nets are provided and much needed here. They prepare amazing food onsite, keep in mind since its one person going everything you may wait for over an hour. So we would show up before we were too hungry and by the time we were starving the food would finally show up!!! But thats the way of life here. Sit back, relax and enjoyed. Dothe morning canoe trip. Worth the 6:15 am departure to see all the wild animals starting their day :)
