I got a single room (no windows) which was functional and fairly clean. There was no shampoo but the hotel gave a few bars of soap. No water was given but it’s possible to purchase bottles for a cheap 3BRL at reception. The breakfast was quite a spread - I especially like the con carne. The staff were excellent and very honest. Opposite the hotel is a raised promenade and i felt safe walking along it late at night. There were a few food stands, and also people running and exercising at 10 pm. 

Good economy hotel

Nothing sofisticated given the price, but it had everything needed to have a good night. The AC was working well, the hotel looked new and was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was ok with a fait choice of options. Only the wifi was not always working depending on the position in the room.
No hot shower (not an issue given the  climate).
Although it is in the riverfront it is not exactly in the centre (about 15/20 min walk).

Do the job

I traveled to Fordlandia on the Tapajos River and stopped at the Tapajos Center Hotel at the start and end f trip. The rooms were large enough, the staff was extremely helpful. Presently there is no elevator and on return i was on the 4th floor. The staff carried my bags to the room. I believe that they are paling on having a pool and elevator in the future.
Do not get an interior room. I had a front facing room overlooking the river. Sunsets right in front of you, couldn't ask for a better view.
Taxi's seemed to be across the street whenever i needed one including when i went to airport for a 3:30 AM departure!
If you plan togo to Satarem this hotel will put you in the right location!

Excellent location some rough edges

This great hotel is just between where you want to be in Santarem. To the left the market to the right everything else you want from an Amazon night life. Pls do check it between March and April the street it is located might be flooded which is an extra attraction to it or an agravation

I spent only one night which is enought to notice the single beds are really small. The access to internet was good. I very much liked the service and it is quite clean. The area is quite peaceful safe!

Nice view good service, great location

This place exceeded my expectations.  You don't expect much when you see Santarem and the Tapajos certainly looked the best from what I saw from the outside.

The location is good - half way between the port and town centre.  Nice views over the river from the front rooms.

The rooms are spacious and very clean.

Breakfast was excellent and the wifi pretty good.

The service is excellent even though no one seemed to speak English. 

Good choice for the money

Great for the money

Hotels in small cities are rarely part of big chains, and most of the time you end up in bad places, which is not the case here. The hotel room is quite clean and spacious, bed is comfortable and the wi-fi works very well. AC is excellent! Bathroom could be bigger, but is clean and water pressure is ok. My bathroom did not have shampoo (trust this was an oversight from housekeeping) but water temperature was very good. I stayed in room facing the river, but since I arrived at late night did not enjoy much, of the view. They have a place where they serve breakfast, but at night is not open but front desk can recommend good restaurants or even delivery. There is a taxi stop right across the street and since hotel is next door to a navy base the area is quite safe. By the way, hotel does not have elevator, I have stayed on the second floor and pack very light - business trip - so no problem.

Best hotel in Santarem

In Santarem, we didn't have much choice.  The location is ideal, nestled across the street from the river and walking distance to the town.

The hotel is very poorly design.  There is no lift and some standard rooms have no windows.  The suites facing the river have adequate balconies, but the bathroom windows have gaps that allow mosquitos and moths to invade the room, so make sure to close the bathroom door and/or keep the lights off.

There is good internet and it is complimentary.

The hotel staff is very friendly, but poorly trained.  When I checked in, they gave me the keys to a room that was already occupied.
