We only stayed 2 nights in this pousada but we felt at home. Claudette welcomed us very well and organized our 2 days as best it could not be done. The poudasa is not close to the center of Soure 20/30 minutes on foot but there are motorcycle taxis that can quickly take you anywhere on the island. You can also go to a beach and have it picked up hours later. The pousada is clean, the room quite spacious and well furnished, the bathroom ok. You can also eat very well at the restaurant; the meat with marajò cheese is excellent. Great choice you won't regret it.

Very welcoming

The employees are extremely friendly, the owner, Jean, is also a super friendly person who gives you all the attention and support one needs for an excellent stay in Marajo. For breakfast they serve fruits, local cheese, butter, and buffalo milk products. On top they will add a special cake or recipe from the region, which changes everyday. 

I will never forget that tapioca cake!

Lovely place for a relaxed stay in Marajo

The pousada staff was friendly and in regular communications with me prior to our trip, and was able to accommodate our early arrival on the ferry.  The facilities are very attractive and the rooms basic but comfortable. The biggest issue was the mosquitoes entering through a bathroom window that could not be entirely closed; however, stuffing a towel into it helped immensely.  Meals are served on a covered patio overlooking the verdant courtyard.  The food was decent but service very slow; the minimal staff worked hard but they struggled to keep up with demand.  One of the resident dogs was a regular fixture at meals and definitely a guest favorite.  Would stay again.

Basic Accommodations in a Lovely Environment

Everything was great. Staff and food are the highlights. Make sure you dine in at least one day at the hotel as the food is tasteful, probably the best restaurant at the island. Breakfast is also one thing not to miss.

Restaurante is the best in the island. Accomodation is preety much comfortable and quiet.

Canto do Francês is a perfect place to stay in Soure. Friendly staff, great breakfast and cozy bedrooms. You can rent a bike over there if you want and you can eat at the hotel by night, they have great options! Loved it!

Great spot in Soure

Before arrival they send me all options to get there from Belem, that was really nice since there is not that much info about it and we don’t speak portuguese.
The house is big, airy, beautifully decorated, very clean, the rooms are nice and simple with great bathrooms, good AC. We had dinner twice, food was very good , as well as breakfast.
Totally safe place for anybody. Wifi mostly works well.
The staff is so nice and helpful. They reserved 2 excursions for us, both were great even if it was raining at the fazenda. They speak french, portuguese, spanish and english.
Real perfect stay for a first time in Bresil! Definitely recommend!

Beautiful house, lovely gardens, excellent stay!

We arrived  in the evening after a long trip and were quite tired. When we came to the reception the lady hardly looked at us and seemed annoyed. We didn’t feel very welcomed. 
Luckily the next day the receptionist was different and she had a big smile on her face (she also speaks French). 
The rooms were nice and clean. I was expecting a big hangout area with hammocks, however there were only two hammocks in front of he laundry area. 
The breakfast was nice, especially the Tapiocas with the homemade goiaba and passion fruit marmalade. 
The food à lá carte was also good however I recommend to order in advance as there is always a waiting list. 
The nice receptionist was very helpful in organizing tours and taxis. 
Overall a nice place to stay!

Nice hotel in Soure

I had an Enjoyable stay at this little Pousada. Clean, friendly staff, and a good breakfast to start the day. Really not that far from the Center of town. Had a Buffalo steak one day for Lunch it was excellence. I would stay at this place again.

Enjoyed My Stay

I stayed her for three nights in June and it was the perfect place. The staff go above and beyond, the food is good. We ate lunch there on our first day - excellent fish - but I could not finish mine. They offered to put my plate in the refrigerator and I finished for dinner. French music is played in the evenings, local music in the mornings. Only drawback is that they advertise they speak English, but really only Portuguese and French and wi-if did not always work.

Lovely moderate priced hotel in Soure

Stayed here for two nights.  Excellent breakfasts included.  Other meals were also good.  Staff pleasant and helpful.  Close to center of Soure village.  Rooms were quaint but adequate; air conditioning worked fine.
