The hostel was really nice, beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean even though they had a toilet paper that was like using napkins to clean yourself. Kitchen was ok for such a cheap hostel. We had no problems during our short stay but what I found unacceptable was that after we checked out we went to the beach cause we were taking the afternoon bus, and we asked if we could use the bathroom to take a shower (this was one hour after we checked out and the hostal was almost empty and all the bathrooms  were free) and they told us we could use the bathroom but we had to pay 15 reales extra (almost half of what we paid for staying one entire night there+unlimited bathroom+breakfast). Of course I didn't pay it, but not only because I thought it was pretty expensive for a 5 minutes shower, but because I feel that it goes against the culture of backpacking and that's not how normal good and friendly hostels work. I mean, we were not asking to have free breakfast or anything, just to use one simple and basic service provided by the hostel. I'm not even mad, I'm disappointed and I think it should be something to think about because I feel it's too much just to try and make more money. 

Disappointment 

Theo cheapest hotel in Ubatuba, with breakfast. Excellent location in touristic center, with the ocean behind the hostel and a fancy bar opened to the main Street, where I had a lot of fun drinking caipirinha and dancing cumbia Argentina.

Excellent hostel

Best staff ever!
I spent 4 days at the hostel and instantly felt so welcomed. The staff here are incredible and so friendly and really just the best people to talk to. I had so much fun with them. Beds are comfortable and AC works well. Bathrooms are clean and work well. Comunal area is ample and there's even a wonderful terrace to take in the view of the beach. They offered a pizza night and a burger night when I was there at very reasonable prices. The bar is not expensive either.
My only recommendation is a more extensive breakfast...definitely the simplest one I've had in Brazil after almost 1 month. But such a wonderful time here! Thanks for everything!!!

Best hostel in town

Very friendly welcome in this hostel! Unfortunately I was sick at the time so I didn't enjoy my stay fully, but the staff was very concerned and on standby in case I needed to see a doctor. Breakfast buffet was excellent, common space was very cozy! I slept in a female dorm, lockers with lock on the hall. Excellent views to the water with an outside terrace to enjoy the sunset!

Weekendbreak

We only stayed at Dona Benedita for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The hostel is super clean, and beautifully done. I would love for my place to look how this place did! The room didn't have AC so it got a bit hot, but a lot of hostels across Brazil haven't. The hostel is right on the beach front, walk outside for breakfast and take in the views of the ocean. A bit of a walk to the main beach, but we did it with a few beers in our tummy's :) Breakfast was good, had a toaster and fresh cake (made in house) It had a very warm, friendly feel, with a cute little dog called Bart taking residence. The woman who appeared to own the hostel didn't speak English, but she was very warm and friendly! The person who made our stay was Jeff, on reception. He is the loveliest person I've ever met at a hostel, took us down to the markets, chatted with us and brought us some drinks. I can't sing his praises enough! Overall, loved this hostel! It really felt like a home away from home.
