A lovely place to stay at @$15/night for a private room with bathroom and balcony!  At 59 yrs old, this was my first hostel but maybe not my last.  Ecotrip is clean, friendly and well-located.  Our rooms were spacious and there was a reading lamp!  I would stay there again.  Tonight, my daughter and I are staying in a $400/night room in Campos do Jordao that feels like a prison cell with no window and we agreed that we much prefer the Ecotrip Hostel.

Lovely

The Ecotrip hostel is apparently a newly renovated youth hostel, which also includes three rooms equipped good bathrooms en suite. We stayed at the hostel in May 2017, during low season. The standard of our room, which featured a double bed, was comparable to what we have found in some modern hotels. The breakfast was additional to the room price, but overall this was very good value. The breakfast is very simple and is served in a common table. The company of the other guests, mostly youth travelling around Brazil and South America, made the meal even merrier. We got many good tips about travelling from them. The hostel lies in a quiet area at the end of a street perpendicular to the beach road. There are not many activities or things to see in that area. But, it is an easy and safe 5-10 min walk from the hostel to the restaurants along the beach. The hostel has a common kitchen, which all can use, but they also served pizza the day we were there. They also offer safe parking. The WI-FI connection was relatively good nearly everywhere in the complex.

Joyful youth hostel with double rooms in Ubatuba

Hostel was a nice place to stay for a couple of days, even if it rained everyday. Nice common areas and the pool is really nice too. The outside kitchen isn't very well stocked (e.g no bowls, mugs, broken can opener...), however it was clean and useable. 

They need to change their description because breakfast is NOT included and you have to pay $10 for it, but does include a bit. 

Rooms were comfy and clean. Hostel is close to the supermarket, main beach and bus station which takes you further north. A fair distance from the main bus station, but you could walk if it's not raining. 

I think people mainly catch buses to other beaches close by as the main beach is okay, but not overly beautiful. Also check the weather forecast! Ubatuba isn't a great place to hang when it's raining.

Great Place

Always I go to Ubatuba i prefer to stay in Ecotrip for many reasons. Its location in downtown is perfect. From there you can walk to the historical centre, to the coast and the main streets where thre are many options to eat out. it's also a strategic point to take a bus to the beaches (up north or south) and to other cities. The atmosphere in the hostel is friendly and I always meet interesting people there, from Brazil and abroad. The accomodation is simple, but there is a kitchen in case you want to cook. And if you want to stay by yourself there is also plenty of space. I highly recomend. Maria Teresa de Souza, from São Paulo, Brasil

Hostel in Ubatuba downtown

This hostel is great! It's very relaxing, only some blocks from the beach and has many spaces to be in! The kitchen is really big and I really recommend this place for freelancers or digital nomads as the internet is REALLY good!
