Rooms don't match the photos. Otherwise I wouldn't have booked. Good hosts, close to the beach. Bathroom was ok bad: no restaurant as indicated, no water to drink, bad breakfast for an Italian, poultry in the room, so many insects to find bad.

Not recommended

I was there with my husband in December and I really enjoyed it. It's close to the beach which, by the way, is great. I was well received, first of all by the great care of the owners who are very attentive people, also by the very cozy environment. Super indication!

Amused by this hidden place, a real paradise.
Lin and Gal prepared for us great breakfast every morning, with so many different typical dishes. Gabriele’s extroverted personality and thorough knowledge of the island’s geography and history makes him a the perfect guide. An very good stay. Strongly recommended

Hidden paradise

A very cozy and quiet place.It was an excellent week for relaxation and the beach.The room is very well ventilated and has a private bathroom.

Villa Amari is located in Amari.

My first stay at the inn was fantastic. I went with my girlfriend and we repeated the dose two more times. The rooms are super cozy, the atmosphere of the house is extremely welcoming, the attendance and attention of Lin, Gabriele and Gal is fascinating. The price is the best on the island and believe me, it's worth every penny! Thank you for welcoming you and as soon as possible I'll be back to try the Italian-fashion spaghetti by chef Gabriele.

Refuge

The Pousada is indeed a lovely place (it is actually Gabriele's home) but we found it a bit far out for our taste. Not just the fact that it is far out, I can deal with that, but there is really nothing around the town, a couple of supermarkets and a pizzeria that doesn't look that good. If you want to go to a restaurant you need to take the bus to some other more busy towns. It is, however, a great place if you want to escape civilization and get an impression of the deep and laid-back Brazil. It should also be mentioned that the breakfast was absolutely delicious, prepared by Lin who is really lovely. Gabriele, though, seemed to be a bit cranky during the time we were there. We also had his pasta one night but didn't think much of it, to be honest. If I go back to Itaparica I will be looking for a place with a bit more atmosphere and choice.

A bit far out...

A wonderful house with a huge organic garden.
The owner, Gabriele, is a very cultivated person. He also knows very well Brasil and can give you some good travel tips.
Lovely family, very concerned about your comfort. Excellent food too !
We came two times in the pousada and would like to come again.

The best place to stay in Itaparica !

I really liked the hostel, the place. I was there a few days ago with my girlfriend, and we both loved everything we saw and lived in. I liked the price and the service. I usually travel across the Northeast and I came to get to know this hostel more. I'll be on vacation at the end of the year and I'll be back in El Salvador. I'll probably go there again. It was worth it, people, for everything.

Very good times

One of the highlights of our Brazil trip was the time we spent in the beautiful Amari Pousada! Gabriele and his staff made us feel at home from the moment our taxi pulled up in front of their gate. The room was lovely, clean, decorative and very relaxing. For breakfast they lay on a spread of traditional delights from Coconut rice balls to plantain, accompanied with fresh fruit, coffee and home made cake. They are very flexible when it comes to eating in. Ask Gabriele nicely and he might cook you up his Sicilian spaghetti with capers - probably the highlight of the week food wise. 
The garden can only be described as tropical paradise!

Bellissimo!

I didn't like the hostel, I didn't like the location, what really pissed me off was that one day it rained on the island, in the room I stayed there were several droplets getting completely watered and my clothes got completely wet, besides cleaning was going away from the room, only once in a while. Sometimes the cheap comes very expensive, I don't recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
