Hard to tell what is the best: location under trees near water, confort and cleanness in the chalets, food three times per day, warm and kind reception, quality of attendance, hundreds of very good DVDs and CDs. The first of my visits was about 20 years ago and ... I plan to be there again and again.

Heaven on Earth

Pousada casa bonita has 30 year history in the most beautiful spot near water in Maromba.

The chalets with fireplace, scattered along the hill, the main house with a music room, and the kitchen with superb food with fresh ingredients are remarkable!!

The spot near the river has a powerful sauna, a very hot jacuzzi to warm to joy after a dive in a cristal ice cold water.

Quite amazing the perfect functioning of the faciliteis!!

Oh my God--I spent hours and hours combing through TripAdvisor reviews in order to figure out the best location and pousada for staying in the Visconde de Maua area.  Thank you, thank you to those prior TripAdvisor reviewers who raved about this place.  It was one of the most delightful places we have ever stayed at, and as you can see from my profile, I've submitted quite a few reviews.  First, the setting is stunning--it's as if the backyard of the pousada is your own private national park with waterfalls and wading pools.  Are you kidding me?  It's like a slice of paradise, with some walking trails and pristine, beautiful, lush greenery and gorgeous falls.  And, a short walk up the road is the large waterfall and (natural slide down the fall).  Next, the proprietors, Cassia and Marco--what absolutely wonderful individuals, who came to the area from Rio over 30 years ago and made it their home.  Unlike so many other pousadas which are run purely as businesses after the owners have long disappeared and installed onsite managers, Marco and Cassia are present and care deeply about making sure you enjoy the pousada.  They are so genuine and a delight to speak with.  The greeting was so warm, the staff were all super friendly, the accommodations were cozy, and the full suite of meals were homemade and quite tasty.  We can't say enough about what a gem Casa Bonita is.  So save yourself the grief--this is the place to stay and is worth every cent (or Brazilian real in this case)!!

Save yourself the time--THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO STAY IN THE VISCONDE DE MAUA AREA!!

This place is a luxury. From the way people treat you, the ridiculously good food 3 times per day, the way details are taken care of everywhere, one feels truly honoured as a guest. The praise to be given to one of the owners that put her artistic eyes in every corner and every detail, must be extended to the administrator that manages to maintain a team of people that work hard to keep the excellent standard while smiling and showing their eagerness to please. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The houses are carefully set up the hill so that privacy is maintained. The more expensive rooms have in doors jacuzzis and hammocks. Every one has a fireplace, with everything you need to make it work. A very interesting DVD collection is available at the reception at no cost. The reception area includes  a cozy and charming common area. Wifi is available at common areas only. There are various spots under the trees and near the river set up with easy chairs, precious places to read or chat away. Do please visit the surroundings, but also all that is offered right there in this B&B.

It is worth every penny and more: casa bonita is much more than just a name

I´m very happy to be able and to write the first review about Casa Bonita.

Casa Bonita is an unique experience of good taste, in a wonderful place with a cozy decoration.  The details here are the difference and you can note it in every single part of the lodging.

Casa Bonita is situated near Maromba Falls and that became the Rio Preto´s River. The river flows inside de Hotel giving you a chance to have a private nature swimming pool. But if you think that the water is very cold, you can get a warm bath in special tube with the river´s view. Casa Bonita also have a Finish Sauna to get a relax and a beautiful little forest to walk or just admire the green.  

All the “Chalets” have a special touch with a “home mountain “ design with a fireplace. The beds are very comfortable with a warm sheet that you control the temperature. Some “Chalets” have two floors a balcony or a private tube but all have a TV with a DVD player.

The owners, Cássia and Marco, are very careful to propose you a complete experience offering the best in the area, I mean, the best food with organic and natural ingredients. I always recommend to be in the all inclusive option, because all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are unforgettable. The meals are cooked in a wood stoke that gave a special taste for  the courses. All the staff is very good and helpful. The Wine Menu is plenty of good and reliable wines from Brazil, Argentina and Chile. 

Cassia is also a painter and you can visit her “Atelier” and admire her beautiful and emblematic frames.

And to finish do you have the main house with a big lounge that you can choose a CD and listen Brazilian or get a DVD to watch in your “Chalet”.

I  do really recommend Casa Bonita. I am such a fan that I just married there :)
