The place is calm and quiet - and that was the main attraction for us - with enough parking space.  The room is very decent, with a fair seaside view (even though obstructed by a seemingly abandoned building just a few meters away). The bed is indeed very, very comfortable.  We've used it just for a few minutes, as the weather wasn't too hot during our stay, but the AC unit seems to have been able to turn the room into a freezer in minutes.  Useful feature when there's 40C outside, me thinks.
The bathroom, however, must have been designed by a non-professional - very small and with the shower placed between toilet and sink so, as someone else mentioned already, you make sure you spill water all over the place, towels and the wooden door included.
Why so many hotel owners - in Greece, but also in Bulgaria - seem to believe it's fancy and cool to have this sort of bathroom is beyond me. This, in particular, must be quite costly for the owner - a wooden door, which I assume he must replace every 2-3 years, must cost the equivalent of 50 cheap plastic the curtains.
This hotel's advantage, but also its main problem is indeed its location - peace and tranquility come at a cost. The place is quite far from downtown (especially for those, like us, who haven't been able to discover "the secret pathway" to the beach and seaside promenade); a bit too far far if you want to walk to a restaurant, eat, have a drink and come back, too close to be worth driving.
If I were Asen - I believe this is the owner's name - I would invest a relatively petty amount (petty at least as compared to what he must have invested already in this 24-room place) and buy/rent out to tourists:
1. Bicycles. Probably the ideal vehicle for short distances, excellent for a ride along the sea and solving the downtown transportation issue.
2. Some simple/cheap entertainment items for those who don't feel like going out every afternoon/evening, but would do something a bit more active than reading - some frisbies, volley balls, darts, table tennis, stuff like that.
Generally speaking, the property appears to have a lot of unused space.
A big plus - Asen makes fabulous coffee and he's not stingy about it.
All in all, a place worth its money, but not sure I'd go back there unless some changes are made.

Nice place, but could be much better with just a little bit of effort

This hotel is run by the most friendly family. They were always available for directions and advice on the town.  Comfy bed.  Clean room.  Onsite parking.  

The location was about a 20 min walk from the harbour (once you found the secret pathway!). A very pretty walk for those who don't mind it but if you hate walking this isn't the place for you.

Quiet,relaxing,clean and cheap..5 min by car to center marina..only suitable if you have a car. Poor breakfast,but strong quality coffee (espresso machine,unlike instant coffee all over bulgaria). Owners very kind and helpful

Good value

Stayed 4 nights in July 2013.
The facilities were very good for a 2 start hotel - friendly staff, free parking, wireless internet connection was good, clean and comfortable rooms, air conditioner, rooms with mini - refrigerator, balcony and great sea view.
Breakfast was frugal, but varied breakfast - chesse and ham, bread, juice, tea, coffee, yogurt and home made bakery.

The hotel location is on the main road Balchik - Albena, about 30 m from bus station. 
Takes 10-15 min by car to get to Balchik main beach and 30-40 min walking. The main beach is ~ 300 m long, seashore is smooth and not too deep (in ~ 20 m water depth is ~ 1.7m).
Takes 15-25 min by car to get to Albena where the beach is ~ 4 km long. 
Takes 10 min by foot (~ 1km) to get to Botanical Garden second entry; about ~ 500 m from Enigma hotel, turn right through the forest  and after 5 min walk will find the entry (is a sign indicating the road to Botanical Garden). 

Takes 3-5 hours to visit the Botanical Garden and Queen Marie's Residence. the park complex is opened daily summer time 8:00 - 20:00 , winter time 8:00 - 17:00 ( charge adults - 10 lv, children - 2 lv). We had a pleasant meal at Korona restaurant.
It is a nice hotel and had a wonderful vacation.

Very nice hotel

I just returned from my honeymoon. Miro and his wonderfull family prepared a wonderfull apartment for us with flowers and candles and a nice card.They were really client oriented during our stay.All the rooms have balcony with a wonderfull sea view, also the  terrace. Breakfast is light and healthy with coffe or tea, yoghurt, a wonderfull home made bakery and peach juice. I already miss the view!Congrats for the people that made our stay great! From the hotel Albena,Golden Sands and the city centre  and bay are easy to reach by car.The hotel has also wireless internet.Not enough free parking spaces in the area. .
