Bansko Royal Towers 

What was goodLocation, location, location. The hotel is just the opposite side of the ski gondola and we walked with our ski equipment on. Aldo supermarket just down the block, all the neat restaurants and hang out places are only 2 minutes walking. We stayed at a half-board (breakfast + dinner) arrangement and all the meals were super. Apartment is huge but VERY poorly equipped. Spa is decent. Good massages with fair price.

What was badWE WERE COLD. There is no heating in the entire apartment except for two portable convection heaters, out of which one didn't work. The blankets are as thin as sheets. We went down to the reception at 3 AM after waking up shaking, the receptionist gave us his own heater instead of the one that didn't work and said that the hotel is full so they couldn't change our room to a room with plasma heating, but he will make sure we will get additional blankets. The next day we had to go three times to the reception, who first said we will get blankets, and then said the hotel is full so they don't have spare blankets, and only after insisting for the third time, the lady at the reception had to call the supervisor to get permission to buy more blankets or something like that. This is very disappointing. The apartment itself is not equipped at all - we got only 2 tiny soaps and shampoo bottles and 3 toilet paper rolls - which weren't refilled during our stay. No kettle to make some tea of coffee. Safe not working. Our toilet floor was constantly wet - pretty sure that's because water came up from the sewage hole while taking a shower - and the mop they left in our toilet didn't really wipe water but just spread it around. We had to use our hand towels so that we won't stand on wet floor. Of course, the hotel is full, so no extra towels. Breakfast opens only at 7:30 so even if you're an early bird, or if you want to avoid the gondola line, you can't really get there before 8:15... And one day they "forgot" to open the place till 7:45 - we had to go to the receptionist and ask her to call the restaurant and only then they opened the place. Too bad they don't open breakfast at 7:00 or 7:15 during winter time so that people could get to the gondola early... We ended up taking shuttles to the top of the mountain since there was a HUGE line at 8:15 and we wouldn't have made it to our ski lessons, I find the importance of the hotel's location to be less significant now.
