Guest House Dangulevi 

Guest house Dangulevi is in Smilyan, a cute village some 10 kms from Smolyan. We spent 3 nights celebrating the New Year there and I was really impressed! We had one whole floor entirely for us, with a big guest room with a fireplace. The house is furnished traditionally, has a local heating and is very very warm, even during the winter. The hosts - Miglena and Emo, and their daughters were all the time taking care about anything we needed - wood for the fireplace, tea and coffee, and they also cooked for us when we asked them. We celebrated the New Year's Eve together, playing bulgarian dances in front of their house. In all - it was as if you are not guests, but part of this family! I was really thrilled by the peace and beauty of Smilyan. And there's so much you can see just 5-10 kms around - Koshnica fortress, Uhlovica cave, the springs of Arda, the Canyon of waterfalls, old traditional houses. Just across the house is also a dairy house where you can get all kinds of delicious yellow cheese. Oh - can't wait for the summer to come and be back at this amazing place! If you head for Smolyan - it's way better to stay in Smilyan as a base and explore the surroundings from there, Smolyan is not that green and peaceful.
