We was planning traveling with a small dog, so we contacted the property management 5 months in advance to check whether they could accommodate us in that way. In our first call everything was good and the management said to us that there will not be a problem as the dog is small and we just need to send them the full accommodation value in advance because in the summer its high season for them. So we sent them the money, but after 1  month they started calling us and saying that actually they could not accommodate us with the dog, except if he sleeps in the car. Then we said to them that we are understanding them, but we want our money back so we could find another place where we could stay with the dog. However they started to be rude and said to us that they could not give back our money, because we already made the reservation with them and that is not possible, so we should go there but without the dog. We said that this not possible so either they will accept us with the dog or we want our money back and they again said ok, lets ask the higher management and after some talks they again said that they will accommodate us with the dog. 

So far so good, but when we arrived on the day of our accommodation, we were greeted in a very rude way by a man and a woman that introduce themselves as the management of the hotel. When they saw us with the dog, they started yelling at us that there will not be accommodation at all, and whoever told us that we could come with the dog needs to come and accommodate us. We again explained to them the whole situation and they become agressive in the moment we said to them "Ok. We don't want to be your guests then, we just want our money back". They started telling us again that they can't give us our money back, because they are not the owners but only managers. After a long talks and threating from us that we are going to call the police, the man give us back our money with angry face. 

Didn't recommend that property to anyone, looks good in a first sight but then you are becoming a hostage of the rude attitude and deception of the management of the hotel. 

Villa Ivelia ruined our holiday and waste our time in that beautiful place. Fortunately there are good people in Dospat and half an hour after we departed from that property we found a very nice guest house where we were accepted not only as guests but as a friends and we have great evening.

Rude and deceptive management

We stayed here for one night during our cycling tour and found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable. The room was a little bit small, but the balcony and open space downstairs was excellent. 

The location is near the dam (second largest in Bulgaria) and the picture I took was near the inlet. If you go a kilometre further from the hotel, you can see the whole dam which is pretty at sunset. There aren't any shops or restaurants close by, but if you bring your own food, there is a full kitchen and bbq area for cooking.
