I came here with my friends and family, the service was really bad. They did not come to our table to give us menu for 20minutes. We had to go and get our own menu. We waited so long for them to bring our food. They tried to say the people that stay at the hotel have more priority when it comes to the restaurant which is very disappointing. I would never recommend this hotel to and of my friends and family.

We stayed for 2 nights.
The hotel rooms were comfortable, very clean and equipped with all you need. Thanks to the closeness to the dam, the views from the hotel rooms are amazing. Beware - you could be tempted to spend the whole day on the terrace! :)
We were quite impressed by the professional and kind attitude of the waiters in the hotel restaurant. The menu was quite diverse (enough options for vegetarians!) and the meals - well prepared.
Unfortunately the temperatures weren't high enough to enjoy the swimming pool (would be nice to have some warm water) so we are definitely coming back!
I highly recommend Rocca resort to anyone who would like to spend some relaxing time surrounded by beautiful nature and high-quality service!

Recommended!

I will start with the positive sides:it was very clean in the villa and outside, kind hotel staff, beautiful view. Unfortunately there were some maybe small things,but personally for me problems: cold water in the pool, a lot of stairs, which are dangerous for small children, not suitable food for small children - there weren't any soups and the quality of the food in the restaurant not correspond to the price, not good organization of the parking lots.

Suitable for short stay

The houses are new and not well done:) We was at two floor apartment/house.We have problem at bathroom and everything smells of paint. The nature is beautiful and the food is delicious. A lot of water and sun if you have luck with weather.

good fammily weekend

Hotel prices ,food and coffee prices,are not so good. Food is not special too.Toilets and swimming pool were not very clean.
The view of lake is the only thing which is worth saying.So,we will not go there for second time

Not value for money

Very nice drive from Plovdiv. 

Not to many road signs though. Phone GPS was very helpful. 

Booked a 2 bedroom villa. Private entrance. Free parking. Small number of staff run the place but very capable and friendly.

Villa was very comfortable and warm. Well equipped. Kitchen and family tv room down with a bathroom, 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor with a common bathroom.

Scenery is gorgeous. Breakfast very average with limited options. Very nice spot for droning.

Only issue was, in the morning of check out, immigration police came to the hotel, and as we were the only guests they only had us to question. Apparently is a normal practice there that they drop by once a week and question the guests. Not very familiar from ppl from the UAE, they asked us to come to the immigration office to cross check out details and travel plans. We checked out early, went the office, spent 5 hours drinking coffee and talking till they check with other hotels , car rentals etc.. then we were allowed to leave. Very nice officers tho, apologized for the time they took from us and it was a process they were forced to follow.

Hotel said it was a normal process. It was a frustrating experience. If you will book at rocca just keep in mind you might come across this, and keep ur papers in order.



Beautiful but .. police issues 

After a long journey we found this hotel randomly shored on the edge of a lake (passing through so only stayed one night). The food and service was very friendly and food excellent. I would recommend staying here. The rooms were comfortable and a particular highlight was the floor to ceiling carpet 😉

Nice surprise

We went for a weekend in August as we needed some time to get away from routine. In the process of reservation we said we do not want a room next to the reception and they said ok, we have another room. But when we arrived, they checked us in the room just opposite the reception. I insisted on another room but they said they didn't have any other left as it was 17h already. So, be aware of these rooms as they are noisy and the view is not very good. The swimming pool water is freezing. All the other things were OK. The food was great, the room and house keeping also very good. The views to the dam were wonderful.

A very nice escape

The views over the lake are great, from both the restaurant and from the room. Service and restaurant were very good, overall good quality hotel.
To take into account: there are lot of stairs to the restaurant, it was quite difficult for us with the baby crib.
We didn't use the pool as we stayed only 1 night.

Great views, comfortable hotel

We spent a weekend here and it totally exceeded all expectations.

Located on the shores of one of Bulgaria's biggest dams, Rocca Resort is an excellent place to have a short break in the mountains.

We had one of the spacious villas with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and huge living room and I can't say that we missed anything. The view from the resort, the pool and the villa is mesmerizing, especially at seaside. The pool is excellent, but being in the mountains means that you cannot have a late pool fun.

The restaurant is excellent and we had the chance to enjoy traditional Bulgarian food as well as some fusion cuisine proposals. The service was surprisingly friendly, quick and for two days there I had absolutely zero remarks on the staff.

Based on all of this,  I would certainly return there again!
