Stayed there with my wife. The hotel is very cozy. The architecture is traditional for the region. The rooms are spotless and big enough. Breakfast was amazing and really tasty. Dinner was great and the service was fantastic. Parking was also provided free of charge. We are definitely coming back.

This is a gorgeous small town and the hotel is well located within it. It is known for its beautiful stark white cliffs, its traditional buildings, its history and the nearby monastery that is in a peaceful location on a ridge nearby. Owner / host was very welcoming and friendly and interested to share his helpful local knowledge. The room was quiet, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was included. Car parking was available on the street and seemed secure. 

Good and autentic atmosphere of the rooms and the restaurant. Nice terrace with tables for great evenings and vine. The food is actually homemade and traditionally delicious. Good for quite and relaxing moments with the family or friends.

we booked two double rooms,we could nt find anything to complain about.
 the staff were friendly and helpful,the rooms were importantly clean also the bed linen was clean along with the white bathroom towels.the bathroom/wetroom  was large clean and the floor dried very quickly after the shower there was also plenty of hot water .
i did have a good nights sleep .the rooms also have a kettle and a fridge in so if you like plenty of teas/coffee then take supplies so you can make your own.this hotel was good value for money also enjoyed breakfast

We came here for dinner with family one weekday evening off-season. While the restaurant had a large student group dining there, they offered us a table on the side in the same room and asked if we didn't mind. Not a problem for us!

The server was friendly and quickly brought us the appetizers and drinks. All went well until the main meal. Three out of 4 in our party ordered fish. This also came out in a timely fashion- the trout was also very tasty. Whereas the other dish ordered was a meat/vegetable dish baked in a pot; as such, he warned us it would take 10-15 minutes to make. Again, not a problem. While 3 people at the table ate their fish, it took an additional 30+ minutes for the last meal to arrive. In fact, by the time everyone had already finished eating their meals, the last dish still had not arrived. 

Numerous attempts were made to get the server's attention to ask about the status of the last dish, though to no avail. When the dish did arrive after eventually getting the man's attention, it was at least hot and fresh - obviously someone had forgotten to either give the order or make the food.

Overall, a pleasant and inviting restaurant with a big room upstairs for hosting large groups. Food is typical Bulgarian food, nicely prepared - but the excessively long wait for our last dish put a damper on the experience.

Restaurant - clean, good food - but just adequate service

The hotel was inviting at first look. The ground floor housed the reception desk, but primarily seating areas and a large fireplace that was dormant for the season. The second floor contained a restaurant with seating indoor and out on the large balcony. Hotel rooms occupied the upper floors.

The building must have been no less than a hundred years old. It’s rustic, antique aspects were accompanied by minor inconveniences. The walls are presumably solid stone, so Wi-Fi reception was not consistent throughout the room. Electrical outlets were sparse and powered by electrical lines stapled to the floorboards. I counted only 3 outlets and one was dedicated to the mini fridge.

The age of the building did not preclude dual-pane windows, but these were not modern windows. A set of windows hinged from the outside of the wall and opened outward; another set of windows hinged from the inside of the wall and opened inward. A space of about 9 inches, that being the thickness of the wall, separated the sets of windows. The mild weather and lack of traffic did not provide an adequate demonstration of this dual-pane arrangement as a barrier against heat or noise.

I was the only one in our room to take a shower this night. The water was cold. When I mentioned this to Darina the next morning, she said that Communist-era buildings would generally have hot water in mornings but not evenings. This building pre-dated the Communist era, but I assumed the generalization may still be true. However, we did find hot water on our second evening.

The hotel would have been satisfactory and enjoyable if it had not been filled with a bus load of kids just out of high school. These same kids were scattered about town and maybe a few other hotels. Inside, they were loud, disrespectful and mouthing off, slamming doors. One boy was walking between rooms with nothing more than a towel. Dara said this was typical for Bulgarians. Before our arrival, Tatyana received a call from the hotel to confirm our reservation. In hindsight, she suspects that they were confirming that our room would not be available to more kids while neglecting to warn us that we would be surrounded by kids.
