Ivanessa Mejia made our experience at this resort so amazing! We struggled in the beginning with some of the service at Barcelo Bavaro but Iva was quick to answer all of our question and make our trip even better! I can say with full confidence that Ivanessa is one of the best (if not THE best) employee this resort has. We loved our time we spent with her and are sad to leave. We’ll miss you Iva! Thank you so much! Hotel is very beautiful in general , I’m coming back ❤️

Vacation in barcelo beautiful

Booked to stay here for 4 night's from 12th August 2019. We should have left on the 16th which is this Friday. Initally the hotel looked ok but their was a smell coming from the drains in the bathroom which we reported. Nothing was done. On further inspection it became apparent their was other issue's as follows:-
General cleaning was poor with crumbs between seats, greese on walls by cooker, Flies that had been swatted and stuck to ceilings and walls from previous occupant.
The toilet became inoperative which was due to a faulty fitting. Their was a curtain missing from the living area which doubled as a bedroom making it difficult to sleep after dawn. We were told the issue's would be addressed so stayed the first night but quickly realised that the room was alive with cockroaches. We spoke again to representative called Nikolay the next day who then stopped answering his phone when we sent him the picture's. As we had no joy contacting Nikolay i then managed to get a further representative who was providing another couple with a room to come and speak to us in our room by taking his car key. He was unhelpful and insisted he knew nothing about the situation despite having a bag full of cash and showing occupants to their room.
I had no option but to return the car key to the representative as he threatened to ring the Police.
A total lack of regard for the law and general decency.
I'm guessing this place is run on behalf of someone by a managment company as the owner is well known to the Police.

I'd be happy to talk to the owner about refunding our money should they wish to do so. Be warned!!!!

Terrible Hotel. Do not go here!

Please do not trust this property! We had a family apartment booked that was cancelled by them at the day of arrival and despite that, our money was taken from the credit card provided! Ever since, they do not pick up the phone and have the "decency" to refuse giving the money back! 
Extremely unprofessional service and rude staff! Beware!
