Just returned from a week’s stay at the Saint George hotel. It was my first time in Borovets - my partner came last year & stayed at the Rila. We were pleasantly surprised with the Saint George hotel considering we had booked it on a very good value deal. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the room was very spacious & owner very friendly. It’s about a 5 min walk from the centre in a secluded location. Yes, the furniture is a little dated & the decor is far from luxurious but this wasn’t a priority for us. We had breakfast & evening meals included - breakfasts were simple but very tasty (choice of cereal, toasts, cheese/hams, bacon or sausage, scrambled egg & lovely coffees). Dinner consisted mainly of a soup & a couple of main options. Food was tasty but slightly limited choice. I’m vegetarian & managed fine for 3-4 nights. Despite being half board, we did choose to eat out on some nights with our skiing groups - it would have been a bit repetitive to have eaten in hotel every night. You can also book the sauna which is nice after a day’s skiing. If you’re looking for a good value, clean hotel which is close to the centre, you can’t go wrong with this one. We would definitely consider returning next time.
