Don't know about the hotel but the restaurant was not good.

The food was eatable but the service was poor. You wait for food very long, which is delivered portion by portion without any thought. After notifying that this in not entirely ok, the manager comes and deliver a full load by telling how wrong you as customer are and how right the staff is.

Well, next time some other Shumen restaurant which is a shame as the environment in this establishment is otherwise quite nice.

Restaurant evening

Staff fantastic, very helpful and speak reasonable English. Rooms are basic but clean and tidy with v. good air conditioning. Bulgarian version of English breakfst included in rate of £25 per room (ie £12.50 each for a twin). Our rooms all had a good sized balcony. Meals very cheap although when busy the service was slow by English standards although given the price that is picky! Good parking and the hotel is easy to reach on the edge of town and in a glorious setting with trees all around. Would not hesitate to return. Only downside is they have a singer every evening who repeats the same songs which wear a bit thin after 11 days!

Great value for money

This place is absolutely not that once in a lifetime destination you might dream of. But, for us, it proves again and again that it can be the perfect spot for a week end escape. The hotel is located in a forest, next to a park, at the bottom of one of the highest peaks of the city and is the starting point for several hiking paths. It is rated as two stars after Bulgarian standards, but it could easily receive at least three stars considering the rooms and amenities it offers. The staff is polite, friendly and helpful, and the restaurant serves excellent food. The hotel offers free parking, wifi and breakfast, and the price of rooms might seem ridiculous if compared to any other European country, considering that you may get a double room for a bit over 20 Eur.
For us,it's the fourth time here, and we will definitely come back!
