Akord Business Hotel

I stayed overnight, and was very pleased. Hotel Accord is several km from Sophia's city center, but several buses and trams run nearby. My room had a double bed (mattress a bit soft), flat screen TV, small refrigerator, desk, chair, wardrobe, and bathroom. There was abundant hot water in the shower (my only complaint is that the bathroom was a tiled "wet room", so the shower drained into a drain in the center of the floor (no tray or pan), which left the bathroom floor wet and slippery for a couple of hours). The staff was friendly, accommodating, and spoke excellent English. Hotel grounds were well-kept. There is a fruit/vegetable market about a block away, near the bus station. The neighborhood was quiet at night; my room was in the back, overlooking trees. Breakfast was hearty: scrambled and boiled eggs, 5 types of sandwich meats, 2 types of cheese, 3 types of pastries, 3 types of cereal, yogurt, grilled vegetables, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, ham, hot dogs, breads, tea, coffee, and juice. I thought Hotel Accord was excellent value for the price of my room.
