Sooo comfortable, lovely bed, pillows, room with an  awesome view and such lovely people right in the heart of Sozopol you’ve certainly stolen my heart.  Please do not come here if you are really posh and do not appreciate hardworking people who will try to make your stay the best experience ever! It is a B&B not a hotel but it has many many restaurants nearby all in walking distance.  Go explore and enjoy the delights Sozopol has to offer ❤️❤️❤️

Wow, just wow.  We absolutely love this B&B which has it’s own pool in Sozopol. How lucky are we to find this place! ❤️

This is a guest house rather than a hotel, rather poor rating.  The room is not really clean, we had to remove the cobwebs from the ceiling and clean the windows and mirrors which were stained.  In any case, daily cleaning is very often reduced to emptying garbage cans.  They don't clean the floor or the bathroom.  We had a sea view room, unfortunately spoiled by the bars opposite which play very loud music very late at night.  The bathroom, recently renovated, has a walk-in shower without separation with the sink and the toilet.  Taking a shower therefore amounts to flooding it.  There are blackout curtains on the bedroom windows, but not in the bathroom.  The two being separated by a glass door, we have the right to live sunrise.  Luckily dark brown towels help solve the problem.  The boss is very rude.  In addition, she asked us to pay an extra night that we had canceled 2 months ago.  Ditto for the restaurant staff, except one or two.  They speak poor English, so we have surprises when the dish arrives.  Only positive points: the location in the old town ideal for evening dining and the swimming pool which allows you to relax after the day's activities.  The room is equipped with a mini fridge and air conditioning.  There is a paid parking lot next door, but since you always have to return the card at reception after bringing the car in or out, it is far from practical.

Could easily do much better

been going to villa sozopol for 3 to4 years and always had a good stay .we stay there in august and the previous staff was not there it looked like it had new owners ,but not sure.The  previous staff was always very welcoming and could not do enough for you .....but this time the staff was always on there mobile phones the reception  always had a sign on the window saying taking a break ....but that was all day both days .When I was paying the bill no  one asked if everything had been ok said thank-you or goodbye .The breakfast menu had changed not as much choice as with the evening meal menu.At breakfast I ask for some milk for coffee I was left waiting when the person I asked went to get but just put it down on the bar and went back to his mobile  I was very disappointed because i loved staying here but next year i will be looking somewhere else

was a lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel in  the Old Town if Sozopol. Fantastic views of old wall and beach. Rooms were clean and had a small balcony(we booked a sea view room). Pool was a great bonus and nice way to relax after a walk around the old town. Staff were pleasant and we were able to check in early. For a 2 star hotel it was excellent value for money. We will be back again in the future.

Little Gem

I rarely write reviews but I felt I really have to share the memorable experience we had. I go to old Sozopol every year and this place has been my favorite by far. 

The location is outstanding if you love the old town and want to be in the middle of its culture and feel. The view is truly unforgettable. You can look at the sea and Sozopol from your window, balcony, the pool, the breakfast area and really anywhere on the property. The property is clean, charming, cozy. The rooms were cleaned daily according to our schedules.  The pool is a bonus and we loved it for our little kids to play while we enjoyed a meal or were getting ready. 

I have to recognize the staff for everything they did for us. My mom could not climb stairs and they jumped through hoops to arrange for her to stay at the ground floor and be comfortable. We celebrated a birthday while there and everyone felt a part of it as the staff were so friendly that only in a few days it felt like being amongst friends. My young kids were sometimes loud and not always the best behaved but everyone did everything they could to be nice to them and helpful to me. 

Thank you Villi Sozopol! I hope we can go back and stay again! Highly recommended!

Unforgettable stay!

Before I begin my review, a bit of background...this hotel wasn't booked by me, in fact, I hadn't even seen any pictures/reviews of the hotel before arriving. We stayed for one night (thank God) in apartment 1. 

Instead of writing paragraphs of complaints, here's some bullet points:

- My bed was hard, dirty, smelled and had hairs/stains all over the mattress 
- The shower didn't work, and it leaked all over the bathroom floor 
- The room smelled really weird...
- The fridge was SO loud and kept us awake 
- To get to our rooms we had to go through the restaurant (that also smelt really bad) and up some pitch black stairs (day and night) which really wasn't nice at all - not to mention the state of the kitchen you can see from the staircase 
- Breakfast was included, so we decided to give it a go - I am a Vegetarian and there was only two options available, SO I went for the chocolate pancakes. I was given two shop bought COLD pancakes with watery/lumpy spread inside

I have attached some pictures - sorry for our stuff being everywhere I just wanted to get out as soon as I could. An image included shows the inside of the window - I think this really shows how dirty our room was. As you will see from these images, its so dated and really basic...

The one star given is for the good location, view from our balcony and friendly staff. I really don't like to drag hotels like this, but honestly I have never stayed in such a horrific place.

Avoid, avoid, AVOID

My sons and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villi Sozopol. The sun terrace, views, staff and pool were brilliant. The location is also excellent. Whenever I had a question Ana was always really helpful. I rarely return to places as the world as many to visit but would certainly return to this hotel and town with it's friendly community!

Excellent place to holiday

Despite the great view, the food is cold, bought from nearby supermarkets. We tried to ask for understanding from the manager but she acted unprofessionally and insulted us. Don’t spend your money in this restaurant.

Disgusting food and rude management

What a gorgeous little hotel. Absolutely lovely spot in Sozopol with stunning views out over the bay. Room was compact but absolutely cannot complain for the money. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful for our three night stay. We managed to upgrade to a room with a balcony for no extra cost. The manageress was lovely and spoke perfect english (even though she didn't need to as my partner speaks perfect Bulgarian. A delightful spot, very welcoming and even helped us with the costly parking regime in Sozopol. Would very much recommend this place. We will definitely stay again.

Absolutely lovely spot and lovely people

A bit of a diatribe follows but please read on as it may PREVENT you booking, which is what I recommend. I booked for a family holiday after reviewing on TA, a calculated risk as there were some poor reviews, but excellent and very good prevailed and we were sold on the infinity pool as we just wanted chill out holiday after the busy first part of the hol. So the good and the bad in no particular order - the was a fantastic view from the pool/terrace BUT THE POOL HAD NO WATER IN IT. I/we were given a long history of the problems caused to the pool electrics by the electric company working locally. However the management hadn't thought to contact customers to tell them this prior to their arrival (I wonder why) so once you were there they rather had a 'captive audience'. We tried to find somewhere else but failed and it was getting late into the afternoon so we had to return. We complained very strongly but in the correct manner. To be fair to the management they only charged us for 2 nights instead of 3 and upgraded us to an apartment from separate rooms but this only slightly assuaged our pool disappointment. Other negatives - cats were constantly a nuisance pestering you for scraps, the mattresses were ancient and the springs, what we left off them, creaked. The central drain/grid in the shower room emitted a very unpleasant odour (we had to cover it with a dampened, folded bath mat to overcome it). We had a kettle but no cups/crockery??? We asked for a bottle of red wine at the bar in the restaurant, but they had none, they did have white but it was not in the fridge so was warm (the owner cooled it for me by putting in a cocktail shaker with ice then straining it, if I'd have wanted a water spritzer I would have asked for one). The breakfasts were, at best, ok. Neither the scrambled nor poached eggs were as described, all the eggs were fried and then bashed up in an attempt to make them look like scrambled or just presented as poached. The whole place is dated, the rooms are dour and drab, a complete overhaul/refurb of the property is soorly required. The photos look fab on TA but cameras CAN lie. Oh - and just to rub salt in the wound, they were going to fill the pool the day we left.
