First to say that we are a family of three. I am English and my husband is kiwi. We have an 11 year old daughter. This is our third summer in Bulgaria. First year was Sveti Vlas (too expensive). Second year was sunny beach at Versis apart Hotel which we abolsutley loved. This year we decided to go one week sozopol at the Tabanov and one week back to Versis....so wish we had given the Tabanov a miss!

I have travelled much and met people from all walks of life but this hotel was soulless and managed by grim people, except the happy young girls at reception. Breakfast was between 8 -10am....it was average. Very regimental. No fresh fruit at all. Or fresh juices. Nobody smiled. If you are use to light heartedness and a smile I wouldn't go here.

We paid £410 for 7 nights at a 3 star with breakfast hotel in Sozopol and £380 for same stay at self catering 5 star hotel at our much loved Versis Aparthotel in sunny beach....there is no comparison.
I realise Sozopol is beautiful and Sunny beach more touristy...but Nessebar is up the road from sunny beach if you want the historic quaint feel which is pretty good!
By far you get treated with more respect in sunny beach than Sozopol. We were out numbered in Sozopol by very rude tourists from certain countries.

We have come here to the Black Sea for the 4th time with our two kids and we would never look elsewhere for accommodation. At Tabanov Beach Hotel we have everything we need: a spacious, sparkling clean room with a huge balcony and a summer kitchen as well as a nice pool, generous breakfasts and the seashore only 5 minutes away. But most of all, friendly owners and friendly staff, always ready to help and to give us a smile. We hope to visit Sozopol and Tabanov Beach Hotel again, for the fifth time, next summer!

Great family-run hotel near the sea

Nice hotel in a nice location. I didn't miss anything. There was a little gym downstairs and a pool, but beaches were so great and in walking distance so I didn't really need a pool. Air conditioning was great, I don't know how I would have survived without it! 
Service was also excellent, everyone were friendly and helpful and it was easy for example to rent a car from the reception. Room was spacious and clean, and kept clean the whole time, and we slept well in our wide bed. I would love to come again.

Very nice hotel!

We loved this hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very clean and our room was very spacious with a large balcony. It is very close to numerous restaurants and several excellent beaches. The breakfast spread was the biggest selection I have experienced in Bulgaria. We will definitely return to this hotel :-)

Good location for beach and Old Town

I knew Tabanov family for many years and I decided to show my husband how beautiful bulgarian seaside is. We stayed there for 5 nights in august- september and we really enjoyed it.

Tabanov hotel is a medium size family hotel and we had a very nice time there. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. We had a studio and we had everything we need there. The room was cleaned daily and it was arranged when we were out for breakfast or at the beach, in order not to disturb us. Everything in the room worked very well and in the bathroom we never had a problem with leaking water or any other things that you can find in the Romanian hotels. Our room faced the road and in the morning was a little noisy but only if the balcony door was opened. Otherwise, we had 5 good night's sleep and with the windows closed and, if needed, the aircon on, no sound disturbed our sleep. The bad was bof and very comfy.

The breakfast was really good and various dishes were present on the table daily. If one plate was finished Mr. Tabanov quickly replaced it with a full one and we always left the breakfast table very content. My husband has a special diet and he was not disappointed with the morning meal. The only thing we suggest to improve was the quality of the coffee - it was OK but not the excellent one we were told by my parents who visited the Tabanov Hotel several times before. The best part of the breakfast was the meal on the terrace under nice shady trees in the warm sunny mornings.

One of the sand beaches of Sozopol is very close to the hotel - 5 minutes walk. One could stay there with it own towels and umbrella or choose a private sunbed and umbrella.
The hotel has also a swimming pool but the beach was lovely and the weather very nice so we did not need to use this pool. However it looked nice and clean.

Sozopol is an old little town near to Burgas with visiting. There were a lot of people there but one could not hear exceeded noise - no car horns, no car racing, no loud gypsy music...
We also visited Burgas and we liked this old seaside town with its old city center and a new mall.

But most of all, Tabanov family is an excellent host and thanks to them we are sure that everybody that chooses the hotel will have an enjoyable holiday.
