We stayed here in July 2017 and had a wonderful visit. The staff was way above average and went out of their way to make us comfortable and to feel special! We especially enjoyed the pool and the bar after hiking in the mountains. The room was very very clean. Just be aware there is no air conditioning and on some nights can be warm.

We booked the hotel as part of our drive back to the UK from the Black Sea coast it was originally I night but we decided there were things we wanted to see in the area so made it two - we wish we had made it  five,

The hotel is newly refurbished and is stylish fresh and an example of good design and taste. Fresh plants collections of objects make the public spaces and the rooms a delight to be in. The staff who are obviously a new team are enthusiastic and helpful nothing is too much trouble and they bare eager to talk and help regarding local attractions and the history.

Our room on the second floor (no lift probably one of the reasons it is not 5 *) was so comfortable with a separate lounge area balcony and views of the mountains and overlooking the pool and surrounding terraces and seating area. No air conditioning (probably the second reason it is not 5*) but as the temperature drops drastically at night it is not really needed. Everything was provided and the wifi worked immeadiately  free unlike some 5* we have stayed recently.

Many public areas bar with outside terrace overlooking the pool and at the front overlooking the square. Restaurant with indoor rooms and areas for private parties and several seats outside overlooking the pool. Service was also available in the many shaded rooms with banquettes and cushions surrounding the pool. The food and drink was excellent and the service prompt and cheerful. A good menu but at present only in Bulgarian the waiter was happy to translate and the manager assured us that it was in the process of being printed as this was a new menu only just launched with the refurbishment. We will returning as so much to see and enjoy.

A five star hotel pretending to be a three star

We visited the hotel this summer and we think that the hotel has a perfect staff, great location and amazing views. Our room and all the hotel were very clean and very nice designed. At the pool area they played very nice music (house, chill out and chansons). We spent very nice week thanks to the friendly staff. The woman on the front desk has told us where we can take a walk. We recommend the hotel to our friends.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and our group had 3 rooms. Let's start things off with the good things.
The hotel is very clean, well built and decorated. In terms of appearance it really does punch above it's weight class.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, some offer a good view, that you can also get from the rear terrace. The staff is friendly and eager to help.
This is a nice place if you just want some quite time away from the noise of the city.
Sadly, that is where the good part ends, and I continue with what...can and should be improved.
First off, the staff only speaks Bulgarian. We only found one young man at the reception that spoke some English. When he was not around, we really missed him.
Even though we visited at the end of Spring, it was apparently too cold for the pool to be opened. Not only that, but the surrounding grounds were in great dissaray. But apparently it was hot enough for the heating to be turned off. That's right, no temperature control, just more blankets.
The restaurant only works in the afternoon, except when it doesn't. The breakfast was quite frugal. As for lunch, I ordered some pasta carbonara that were lumps of pasta drenched in a sauce with no taste and parmezan on top. Worst pasta I have ever had. The cake I had for desert was basically some balls of cream cake. No cake, just the cream.
Just go and eat at the restaurant near by. That is actually the only other place you can eat. It's not anything spectacular, but much, much better than the hotel restaurant.
Although it claims to be a 3 star hotel, there are no bug nets, no mini fridge, no temperature control, almost all TV channels are in Bulgarian, there are no chairs in the rooms.
The one thing that we found most annoying, was that we asked if we could exchange one of the rooms, for any other room with a view, and the girl at the reception said it was possible only by upgrading to another room. The thing is, there were other regular rooms with a view, considering we were the ONLY ones staying at the hotel. The next night, 4 more people arrived, but that was it. About 11 occupants in total, but no free rooms with a view.
I would only recommend this hotel if you find it at a decent price, are Bulgarian, or are just really unfussy.

Good for un-fussy Bulgarians

I am very sorry that I have to write this review, but my friends and I are very unsatisfied with the service. And I am talking about one particular woman at the reception. 
At very first, with our arrival at the hotel, we were greeted very rudely by her. She wasn't at her working place - the reception and when she came after we had waited for 20 minutes, she yielded at us with the words "I am not an ambulance, so you will have to wait as long as it has to".
The woman was also a manager of the hotel as we saw her taking care and preparing the breakfast with other staff. Тherefore the breakfast was very poor - there wasn't basic stuff like scrambled eggs, proper meat, and cheese, which are very common in every hotel in Bulgaria. 
When we were leaving the hotel we suffered another unprofessional attitude by the same woman at the reception. She was unable to issue an invoice, wasn't familiar with the software and we waited for about 1 hour with other people on the queue. She also doubted our online reservation from booking.com and this was the tip of the iceberg.

I am very sorry because the hotel is very clean with beautiful design unfortunately accompanied with poor service and untrained people.
