this is not the ritz, but it is a clean, friendly, welcoming, attractive place near to the river and walkable easily to the bus station and train station. and near to the river so one can walk along the river to the restaurants along there to eat dinner in and up to the castle. vidin is a small town so all is in walking distance. the reception folks are very kind and a bit weak on the english but do their best. if you have any complilcated questions about vidin you can go across the street to the high rise hotel and ask the reception there. the room was more lux than i expected, and the bathroom was fine, and yes it is that european variety with the shower just a part of it but that is no big deal. breakfast was ok, and i had a bit of dinner there and it was ok. they have the tv on in the bar and my room was just above it so i told them to turn off the tv at 10pm and THEY DID. very nice folks and a great money saver of a charming little hotel. i would stay thee again. it is NOT far from the downtown.
