From beginning to end everything about my recent four night stay at Sangker Villa was perfect. The kind hospitable owners, Christine and Phillipe and their local Khmer team, were enormously welcoming and clearly go to great lengths to ensure your comfort as a guest. 

I was very kindly given a free room upgrade and my room, number 5 upstairs, was large, bright, airy and meticulously clean. Breakfast (served from 730-930), always a peaceful relaxing affair, served poolside, was absolutely delicious. The warm homemade bread served with homemade jam was amazing as was the ‘Khmer eggs’ option with chilli and onions. Highly recommended! 

An efficient same day laundry service was available (this may be dependent on weather). Christine can also organise motorcycle rental with the motorcycle delivered to the guesthouse for pickup. 

Sangker Villa also run a selection of their own very reasonably priced tuk-tuk tours with reputable local English/French speaking driver/guides. To witness Mother Nature at her most awe inspiring I would highly recommend the $15 afternoon tour that includes a dusk visit to the famous bat cave - truly spectacular! My driver, Bun, was a superb guide and companion for my 5 hour tour.

Location on the more desirable east river bank in a quiet residential area and only a short (10 minute), pleasant, flat stroll into the ‘centre’ is perfect too. 

Sangker Villa was a 'home from home' and Christine and Phillipe are a good advert for the hospitality industry. Without hesitation I would stay here again and I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough.

A guesthouse with everything you could wish for.

The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The pool is clean and cute. The breakfast is homemade, healthy, delicious and nicely presented. The location of the hotel is very convenient because it is easy to walk to town beside the river. All and all this guesthouse is a good choice. The owner is attentive and helpful.

Very pleasant and welcoming guesthouse.

This was the most perfect accommodation in Battambang. A small family run villa with lovely rooms, intimate yet private. Christine is a wonderful host, others very pleasant and helpful. Fabulous spacious room and nice private outdoor area. Good WiFi. Pool perfectly adequate and very pleasant surrounding. Breakfast superb/ the Khmer eggs an absolute must. Battambang itself was very disappointing and lacked any charm whatsoever. Very limited choice of restaurants so recommendations from Sangker Villa much appreciated. The opposite and busier side of the river is depressing so this side is definitely a good choice. Many interesting Buddhist temples. 

Fabulous oasis 

This is a wonderful small guesthouse, just across the river in Battambang. The owners are French, which is noticeable in the breakfast (homemade bread and jam) and small menu. They also serve drinks, ice cream and cocktails. The rooms are impeccably clean. There is a small swimming pool and the location is very quiet! The staff and owners are super helpful. Best hotel we had in Cambodia.

Great guesthouse

This place has a great vibe. Everyone who works here is super nice and friendly. It’s a very central location. It feels super safe, as they always have a security guard at the front after dark. We really enjoyed using the pool to cool off after walking around in the heat. The setting at the patio, bar and pool is lovely and calming. They have lots of sweet details like putting fresh flowers in the room for your arrival and greeting you with a cold beverage. After the bar closes in the evening they have beverages available on an honor system so you can still have a glass of wine before bed.  You can tell they understand hospitality and think about the little details. We especially enjoyed the delicious Khmer eggs and coffee in the morning - what a treat! Highly recommend.

Beautiful setting, great hospitality!

I stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it immensely. I've seen reviews that it's out of the way, it's only a block from the main street.  Very clean and large rooms. Christine was very welcoming and took care of our every need. I met some great friends, had good wine at the bar, a nice dip in the pool.  I HIGHLY recommend YaYa's salad. Her salad dressing is amazing! I wanted to take her home with me since she wouldn't give up the recipe.

A Very Pleasant Stay

Have no complaints whatsoever, the staff are all super friendly and go out of their way to help you. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is lovely. Especially the omelet. Bar is nice and it is possible to get drinks after hours. Highly recommend

Brilliant

A beautiful place and Christine is so helpful, very relaxing, quiet surroundings and a pool to escape the heat. A lovely place to stay and explore the city and the countryside. Would highly recommend.

Couldn't be better

A lovely place to stay for a few nights in Battambang. Friendly helpful staff, quiet surrounds and a well maintained pool area. All excursions to be done around the countryside can be organised when you arrive. Highly recommend staying here. 

Wonderful Oasis

Thank you Christine and staff for a wonderful stay. You really helped us out by allowing us to use your facilities after checking out until our 10pm night bus. We really appreciated it. 
Cannot recommend this guesthouse enough. It was very clean and inviting. When our bathroom door did not close properly it was fixed straight away. It did feel like home. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality. Merci beaucoup. X
