I think this is the worst place we’ve ever stayed in, the floor boards were rotten, so you had to be careful where you stood. The door into the bathroom was clear glass so not private for 3 people, so many negatives, the only positive was the ac

Absolutely terrible (golden bungalows)

We checked in to find cash only - should have read the fine print. Next stage the view well we could see the water, it was the garbage collection point I think. Now we enter the room to see the bed with the dirty linen, I ask it’s extra for clean linen. We see the air con, but wait that’s extra. Now the bathroom, hummmm. The toilet leaked into the shower, the vanity was full of ants. We stayed for five nights, not once was the rubbish bin emptied, toilet cleaned absolutely nothing considering the price per night was double anywhere else, very disappointing.
Rubbish was everywhere on the property, overall very disappointing. The island however was amazing just find somewhere else to stay please don’t stay here 

Filthy, horrible and gosh I don’t know what else 

Check in was fast, but unfriendly. The young girl checking us in was disinterested at best. The bungalows are on the side of a hill up quite a lot of steps: we carted our luggage to the first bungalow in the midday heat only to be told we were in fact in a different bungalow further up the hill. No apology. The bungalow was large and spacious, but very very basic. No furniture other than the bed and a cupboard. Bathroom was horrendous: small, grubby and poorly equipped. The shower was cold and came out as a trickle. There was no furniture on our balcony (all other bungalows had plastic table and chairs). We asked for some, but our request was ignored.

Whilst I didn't expect luxury on this island, I didn't expect the poor standard of accommodation given the relatively high price we paid. Would not return.

Extremely basic

Check in was fast but not exactly friendly. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. I wish there had been AC as it did get quite hot (I think AC rooms were available but the price difference was much more than in other parts of the country). Our bungalow faced away from the water so we didn't have any view like the other reviews mention. 

Being close enough to walk to the main parts of town but far enough to not hear the party all night was a plus. Overall, our stay was mostly just ok; we stayed at nicer places in Cambodia for less money, although I do understand that Koh Rong is a bit more touristy and therefore more expensive.

Just alright (Golden Bungalows)

Amazing island the bungalows were perfect for us with amazing views, we had a little friend stay with us a slightly larger ghecko but they don't harm and you have the net to protect you, the noises of the wildlife as your sleeping is so tranquil, such a chilled island will definitely revisit xxx the only item I would of like in the Bungalow was a hammock on the balcony but good value for the money, if your looking for luxury this will not be your style as it's rustic, clean and lovely. The walk is only 5 mins to the main bar and restaurant strip, but you do get a sweat on walking.
