There is no water in the rooms above floor 1 after 8pm. They claim its a pipe problem, but will not allow you to change rooms. This happened all the nights we stayed there. 

The photos of the rooms online are completely false. I could write a novel about all the ways they suck - and I've traveled Asia extensively. This is definitely not worth the price.

The staff is ok, and that's the only positive thing here. Note that I wrote ok, and that's the best word I can use to describe them.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

No water, fake room photos online - avoid

I rented a room for 2 weeks and another for 2 nights for a friend. After the first two nights, they told me they had double-booked and couldn't honor the rental. Horrible place and horrible staff. This place is also extremely noisy in the mornings and the bathrooms are almost too small to shower.

Scammers and Bad Hotel!

Once you’ve recovered from the overwhelming stench of Dot Cotton’s front room, proceed to the bathroom to discover the door falls off when you touch it... as well as the toilet flusher and the oversized piece of cardboard they’ve pritt-sticked onto the wall to cover the ginormous peepholes leading to the room next door (which could of course work in your favour when filming your motel murder film...as well as the mysterious red substance dripping down the bathroom walls) 

The bedroom is dark, gloomy and depressing; resulting in me having to do my online interviews whilst sat on the toilet, where you'll find the only light in the building, just so that my potential employer doesn't think i'm locked in a dark cellar and this is my cry for help. 

I was starting to wonder what I actually paid $8 for, (I know its not much, but i’ve stayed in rooms for a dollar which gave out less final-destination- meets-Saw vibes.) until I found a huge bag of marijuana tucked away in the safe. I assume that was a complimentary gift from the owner to help me sleep through the haunting creak of the fan which was *just about* attached to the ceiling and giving me flashbacks of my old pet hamster who I secretly despised because the nocturnal little sh*t  was so adamant on using his squeaky hamster wheel from the moment I lay down to sleep at night.. although the squeaky ceiling fan also comes with the added risk of death as it clings so desperately to the ceiling, swinging ominously, and breathing out about as much cool air as my asthmatic lungs on a hot summers day in Ho Chi Minh City. 

The hostel has about as much life as the cockroach who was chilling on his back in the corridor, and be prepared to sleep with one eye open because of how hilariously horrifying the room is; I hope you’ve got a good sense of humour because if you don’t laugh, you’ll probably cry.

the PERFECT hostel………...if you’re filming an american motel murder film!!!

The place is cheap 7-8usd for a double room. Is a bit cheaper than other guesthouses. When you are travelling on a budget is nice to save in accomodation. However...the place isn't nice. It has 3 floors. No lift. Staff were friendly. Toilet was broken and they tried to fix it.  But the room wasn't nice. I have attached few pictures so you see the real room. They didn't even mop the floor. I felt sad to be there. And disappointed with my choice. Next day I ended going to a much better place to make myself feel better. Not recommended. 
Better mithona guesthouse. Rs guesthouse...etc which are just a dólar more but much better.

Bad place.

The only reason we’re not rating the White River 2 “terrible” is that they gave us a room last minute and without a booking. Also the fan actually worked. They kind of saved us that evening, as we made a mistake booking one instead of two beds in a dorm in another hostel. 

The staff was okay but didn’t really talk or smile or showed signs of any sympathy for their guests. 

Downstairs, the entrance looks alright, as well as the restaurant. It seems clean, there is music and warm lights. 
But you will be torn from that illusion as soon as the receptionist leads you upstairs. It feels like being led away from society, your old life and happiness. This is how I imagine loosing a bet and having to stay in a haunted house for a night (luckily we didn’t book two). 

On our way upstairs, a guy poked his head out of his room and told the receptionist that the flush wasn’t working. Neither did our’s.

Our room was horrible. The green walls made our faces look like we were going to throw up, it was super dirty, smelly, the door didn’t lock properly and I don’t want to know about the sheets, really. I also didn’t dare to check what was going on under the bed or in the bathroom exactly. In fact, this room  was so wrong that we actually had to make fun of the whole stay to actually survive until the next morning. 

Please don’t go there.
