Locacted in a tiny road, but in walking distance along the river to the center of Siem Reap. Really a quite and relaxing location with a charming terrasse. Nice people, very helpful with tips and information. Breakfeast with fresh fruit on the terrasse is a perfekt start in the day. Only little thing to complain about is the coffee. With a decent capucchino we would haven given 5 stars....

Oasis with lovely terrasse

I stayed here with my two teenagers because I’d read the reviews on here.

I just wanted somewhere safe, clean & quiet so it was perfect. Prom & his family are so lovely & hospitable. 

We asked for the free airport pickup & Prom sent a trusted tuk tuk driver who then looked after us so well for our 2 day stay. He arranged the driver to take us on the short circuit of the temples & to the circus.

Prom also helped me with a broken suitcase & advice about what I should expect to pay when shopping & haggling.

We only had the rooftop breakfast one of the mornings but it was fantastic - also the rooftop is lovely & cool at that time of day. 

The guesthouse is not fancy by any means, some of the outside looks a little run down but it’s budget accomodation, the rooms are mosquito free, cool & quiet - our main requirements. 

Walking distance to town (the heat is a drawback though so a tuk tuk is an option at just $1 or $2) & plenty of convenience stores, spas, ATMs & food options all around. 

Safe, quiet & relaxed

My Girlfriend and I stayed for about 10 nights in this great family run guesthouse and we can only recommend to choose it for your stay in Siem Reap. The Guesthouse is well located in a very cozy and quite neighborhood. The Rooms are quite big and well furnished with a desk, kettle and a clothes rack. A big plus is the nice terrace on the roof where you can enjoy the relax after visiting the temples.  Even if it's not located in the main area, it's very well located and with 10 minutes walk you’ll reach Pub Street.

Simply a great stay

We were warmly welcomed by all the family and staff at this small, comfortable guesthouse. We had 5 nights in a clean and spacious room on the first floor: breakfast of fresh fruit, tea/coffee and a hot, cooked course was served on the rooftop. This was also a great spot to sit and relax (and watch the rain!) after a busy time in the markets or a long day at Angkor. It's located in a quiet backstreet near other guesthouses and a residential area: but close to good restaurants and walking distance of the National  Angkor Museum. The owner and his wife were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for the ever-smiling Rosa. Highly recommended. 

Friendly and best value 

Golden TaKeo Guesthouse is a family-run establishment. It is located in a quiet side street and there are several shops, eg supermarket, pharmacy, within walking distance. I liked that you were expected to take your shoes off before entering the guesthouse. This meant that no one traipsed dirt into the building and the floor was clean. Our room was also very clean and we had a wet-room type shower room. Two pairs of flip flops were provided in the room. They came in handy when showering. We had a few tasty meals in the rooftop restaurant. They were freshly cooked to order by a sweet lady called Vin, who sang quietly to herself as she worked. The owner, Prom, is very knowledgeable and was able to advise us of a quiet temple to visit (we were the only 2 tourists at the temple). The bar area, Pub Street, is about a 15 minute tuk-tuk ride away. If you want somewhere quiet and clean to stay, that is reasonably priced, you can't go far wrong staying here.

Lovely family-run guesthouse

I've stayed at a few places in Siem Reap on several trips over the years, and Golden Takeo is the best so far. Stayed here for 15 nights in Dec 2017, and another 10 nights in Jan 2018. 
The rooms are big, very clean, with hot water showers, good wifi, and breakfast included in the room rate. The rooftop garden restaurant is a great place to relax, and eat breakfast, prepared and served by lovely Rosa, always with a smile:-)
Prom and his family and staff are very friendly and helpful, and make you feel welcome. I'll be staying here again for sure.

Great place to stay in Siem Reap

Really nice family! Rooms are very clean and cosy! Breakfast is good! We stayed two days! Prices are fair! Perfect if you want to visit markets and bars. Just a couple minutes away with a tuktuk from the temples!
