The residence was as we expected, quality price very well. The check in was a bit late, the reception girl took care of us but other clients arrived and she started to take care of them ... The breakfast staff was very correct and the breakfast was very good. The room was great and we were offered the late check out at no extra cost. They also let us store our bags and offered us a room 3 hours later to check out so we could take a shower before going to the airport. Very good detail on your part. Also the tuktuk service of the residence was magnificent, Mr. John treated us superbly at all times so that we would not miss anything. We suffered noises from 7 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. from the top floor that did not let us sleep. In general, all very well, if I had to repeat my visit to Cambodia I would not hesitate to return to Bopha Residence.

This hotel has the potential to be excellent, BUT...

The place has a lot of potential, it is disappointing to see them fail on something like housekeeping. For SE Asia it is not that bad, but floor remained dirty during our 3-day stay, even after asking them to clean following our first night.

Shower and toilets floor were dirty when we arrived, shower and tap drains were clogged, shower walls were untouched during our stay (spider web at head level remaining as proof). Basically we took our first showers swimming in the previous guests leftovers, unpleasant... whoever was in charge of cleaning our room during our stay was sloppy, at best...

Swimming pool is extremely small, even less excuse to have it dirty. Disappointing, again, as even small we would have appreciated to refresh ourselves. Even more annoying is that the day after it was still exactly the same (several days of dead insects, leaves, and a piece of paper or plastic wrapper)...

Every time we brought an issue to the staff they acknowledged our complains and feedback (I guess they are taught to do so), too bad their act stopped there and they didn't actually do anything to solve it...

On our last night I hardly got any sleep because of our neighbours banging doors and yelling in the corridor until midnight, and doing the same again at 4am. I learned the day after that the hotel staff knew very well about it, yet couldn't care less about it and did nothing. Do guests have to "police" the place themselves?

I informed the evening receptionist the day before departure that I would be paying, before 7am, with brand new 100$ banknotes and that I would expect the exact change given back with good condition banknotes too, and that it would have to be quick so I would advise them to prepare the invoice before. None was communicated to the night/morning staff who was left hopeless, asking me how many nights we spent there and later giving me back change in bad condition.

Potential to be GREAT, yet DISAPPOINTING

Staff are very friendly especially Narong and Saprom. Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice  with good selection. Location is very convenient and close to shops and amenities. Will definitely come back. Tuktuk drivers attached to the hotel were all very pleasant and helpful. Good job! Thank you!

Excellent service.. always with a smile

We stayed here for 4 nights. We got the lotus room facing the pool on the ground floor which was really convenient for us. We didn’t need to walk up the staircase. The staff was extremely courteous, always looking after our needs. The breakfast was really good. They even packed us a takeout as we left the hotel at 5 am for the temples tour. You could easily travel by foot to the central market and pub street. It’s just a 10 minutes walk. We rented a bike for only a day to commute to places a little further off. We did experience the black out but I think it’s pretty common in Siem Reap. The hotel has a generator and power was restored within 15 minutes. On our check out, we had paid by credit card and we forgot to collect it back. The hotel reached out to us via email. Somehow, with 2 hours time to wait, the hotel took the initiative the ride up to the airport to send it to us. This only goes to show how honest and trustworthy the staff is. We really appreciate that, definitely recommended!

Hidden gem of Siem Reap

I did love this boutique hotel. The room was spacious and nice. The location was great, it was quite near the art night market, but we had to walk a bit further to reach pub street. But the pub street can be accessed by foot from this hotel. But on the night, there were suddenly a black out. It happened twice for about 20 minutes. The hotel has a pool and there were balcony in most of the room.
