Fantastic location

Although there were many conflicting reviews we were happy with the rooms and the service we got at the Boutique Hotel.  Nice pool.  Decent restaurant with a good choice of food and drink. The heritage site is about 30 minutes from the hotel; Srah Em is the closest town to Preah Vihear.  A vehicle is really a good idea in this area in order to really see the surrounding area.  

The best hotel close to the Preah Vihear site

Located in a remote corner of the country, this hotel is probably one of the likely options for foreigners. It has a well laid out property with all the modern amenities [as much as possible]. Moreover, the staff tries to help you by trying to overcome the language barrier in a smiling manner. For example, we had an early start at 07:00 hours and they were ready with our breakfast boxes with the stuff that we had requested the previous evening.

 · The overall cleanliness and hygiene conditions of the rooms can be seriously improved. Apparently it all looks great but you realise the issues once you start to stay - for example, after a tiring day, when we finally decided to hit the sack, we realised that the bed sheets and duvet covers are used ones !! And it did take a lot of time for the hardly English speaking staff to comprehend the real problem and do necessary changes. By the time it was all done properly, it was close to mid-night! These are situations which we do not expect to happen in a professionally managed property

Good for a night's stay if you plan to visit the magical Preah Vihear temple complex

This is probably the best place to stay if you are going that far north to see the Preah Vihear temple, but we got the impression that they were barely making it. They have a lot of young people working there that have not had any training and do not know what service is. 

Barely making it

An average decent hotel but only for an overnight stay. It offered good food but with limited choice. The pool was well kept and the grounds were lovely. We would not seek out this hotel but it did its job as an overnight to somewhere else.

A decent place to stay in a remote area

This hotel was probably very good 20years ago. 
Maintenance is neglible:
pool water green
Bathroom door doesn’t catch
Rain shower head sprays horizontally
Broken fittings etc etc

Staff friendly but not over efficient
Food basic

Not much else in Preah Vihear unfortunately.

Needs complete renewal

Reviews from 2020 describe the need for some major refurbishment for this hotel. Nothing has changed. TV and fridge in the room didn't work, it was hard to close the bathroom door, soap scum in the shower had not been cleaned for some time and the rest of the room wasn't particularly clean either. Breakfast was poor. I guess there is little or no competition so they don't see the need to improve.

Poor value for money

Our booking was long standing, but it was only on our arrival that we were told that the entire hotel had been thrown over to a large party and that they would not be able to cater for us! Further, we would not be allowed to use the hotel facilities after 4pm! Had it not been for our guide and driver taking us out to eat, I'm uncertain how we would have coped? 
We were put in a room far enough away from the party so as to be quiet, but the room was barely adequate!
We did get breakfast in the morning, which did little to redeem the awful service provided.

The hotel is very old and need to be refreshed quickly.
Curtains and sheets are dirty. 
Fridge and tv don't work.
Dinner good 
Breakfast so so....
Only staff and swimming pool are nice. 
Power failure during the night for 4hours. 
Not a 3 stars hotel but only 2 in  real.

Sad sad sad

Had great expectations and was largely disappointed . On arrival the concierge was on the phone for ages and could not be bothered to greet us or sign us in . The room was clean but musty . The shower didn’t work properly , nor did the aircon which dripped on the floor and we had to switch it off. The room decor was poor . No pictures . A tiny tv which needed binoculars to see with! 
Food was very good though service was a bit rushed . The swimming pool was delightful but the whole place lacks atmosphere. The lights in the corridor after dark only come on when you reach  the  end of the corridor not when you leave the room .
Sorry to say the place needs to do better .
