We really wanted to like this place.  The owners are lovely but it is shabby and we were missing a coffee maker, glasses (or plastic cups), a box of kleenex, bedside lamp on one side and we couldn't figure out how to work the tv.  

Place is dated and needs a facelift.  Lino coming up in the bathroom, ledges could use a good clean.

Disappointing Stay

No city noise.  No racing traffic or sirens.  If I were a trucker and needed a place to rest enroute to London and beyond, I would stay here.  Clean fresh smelling bedding.  Microwave and fridge.  Yes it is a dated 1960’s style of motel.  The owners are kind and are doing their best to upgrade the facilities, so most items are in good repair.  The Lighthouse Inn used to be a good alternative.  However, there is so much development and traffic, it’s difficult to tell if I would enjoy it there.  So I opted to stay overnight in farming country.  Short drive to Strathroy for restaurants and amenities plus inexpensive gas too!  I like to support hardworking independent small local businesses whenever possible.  Because major accommodation franchises choose not to until a threshhold of profit is maintained in short measure.  If I am ever in the area again, I will return. 

Good budget hotel in the country!

Only motel in Strathroy that is pet friendly..Too bad! .The place is old, needs renovations, the owner very friendly. Our room was disgusting, dirty carpet, there was mould on walls, the bathroom mouldy as well, tub dirty.
Do not recommend this motel.....Please check it out before renting!

review on Country Side Motel

You get all the facilities that you need for the price they charge. Nice comfortable beds and clean rooms. Also, excellent attitude of the owners. I got stranded during the snow squall and luckily found this motel. Was promptly given the last room they had available.

Clean Budget Friendly

Ok first off the place is old and all rooms could use updating. With that said they are clean, The owners are nice people and have ran a motel before. It is going to take time and money to get that done but they are working on it. I have stayed here and the other place in Strathroy and this place is better and cheaper. Old paint, scuffs and dated yes, for sure but clean. They are reasonable in price and they do not allow load, crazy party people, a lot of workers and a few people here like myself who have divorced and needing somewhere to sleep , eat and live for short term. I would recommend anyone stay here who is not looking for $150 per night Hotels. Also there are a lot of people every night at this place, I have heard no complaints. New owners and it will take time for all upgrades. They are working on it, this place was a run down dump a year ago.

New owners since May 2017 - dated but good !

I was horrified by what I saw at my stay there. Not only did I see children lugging a basket full of sheets to the main lobby but the rooms were disgusting. Absolutely trash, there was mould and bugs caught in tape that was holding in the air conditioner. Thanks to the poorly cleaned room I broke out into a rash that was all over my face arms and neck. My son thankful didn't have as bad as a reaction as I did. 

 So, my mom booked the room for one king bed which translated into two queens and when she was told that she was not getting the room she paid for we were also told that we were only allowed to use one bed. After I posted a review for this disgusting place on google I was told that I was going to be kicked out and the owner was going to call the cops because me and my son were there while my mom was doing somethings. The customer service was absolutely atrocious. 

NEVER GO HERE ABSOLUTELY WORST MISTAKE EVER! There isn't a pool and all the pictures were taken when it was nicer.
