This motel/hotel is located just off the major highway into the Saguenay.  The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful and we had a newly renovated room with plank floors which is a much better option than carpet.  We were impressed that they actually provided real glasses and cups instead of plastic and more motels/hotels need to think about doing that.  There is an exterior door into the parking lot for quick access to your vehicle.  There is also an interior door which leads to the lobby and breakfast room so you don't have to go outside.  Breakfast isn't included in the room price but is optional for a few dollars extra.  Room was very clean and comfortable.  Great stay.

Great little room at a great price

I've been staying here for work and there has not been working internet for 3 days. I find that in 2017 it is unacceptable. The lobby is advised and not changing anything about the situation. 
Rooms are humid and very hot. 


No internet 

Spent two nights at either end of bike ride around Lac St. Jean so arranged by bike tour operator.  Simple, just clean enough, nothing fancy.  Rooms are not noise-proof so expect to hear voices, television, etc.  Not much in Alma anyways so one night is more than enough.  Breakfast top floor in the morning - poor waitress entirely alone with a full hotel!  Expect one egg, toast, two strips of bacon and slice of tomato.  Get your own coffee or you'll wait a bit . .  wifi seemed satisfactory throughout the hotel.

OK for one night - expect room-to-room noise and basic cleanliness.  Nothing at all fancy, but reasonable price.

I'm not a fussy person and if you read all my other reviews you will see this is my ONLY negative review, but when I show up to my hotel and find the fridge full of rotting, stinky food I can't help be disappointed. To make matters worse when we went to the desk to tell the lady she said she couldn't do anything about it because she was alone. She said she had no other rooms so She handed us a cleaning spay bottle, a rag, garbage bag and dryer sheet to mask the smell. Really? So having no choice we cleaned the fridge ourselves. The room was smelly, dingy and outdated by about 25 years. The bed mattress was thin and not at all comfortable. The bathroom was quite clean so that's good. The next day my little daughter went to the bathroom and when she closed the door she let out a a screech from hell! I was sure there must have been a mouse or something. She rushed out of the room crying. The big ceiling tile holding the light fixture had fallen down when she shut the door. It scared her to death. We informed the guy at the desk and although he was much nicer then the lady the night before he was not able to arrange to have it fixed (again he was alone) so he moved us to the only available room in the hotel. It was WORSE then the last, grungy, smaller, no coffee machine, no ice bucket and the same crappy beds.  My question is if this hotel is really booked (which we doubt because we never saw more then 15 cars in the parking lot at a time) then why is management left alone? I'd never recommend this place to anyone. 

Horrible experience 

Wow. This place is awful. The website photos are an absolute lie.  Notice the only photos they show are of ONE room!  If you were with our group staying in about 10 rooms, that one room is like a utopian fantasy compared to the brutal, harsh reality.  The rooms we stayed in were ugly, dark, horribly out-dated, with stained, smelly carpets in the hallway and awful sagging, squeaky beds.  When we went to put some food in the tiny fridge, we were surprised to find it full of rotting food. But that surprise was nothing compared to what was to come. When we sent our daughter to the desk to tell the clerk, expecting her to change our room, or have it cleaned out, she returned carrying a spray bottle, some wipes and dryer sheets (for the smell??).  She said the clerk told her she is on alone and so can't leave the desk, therefore we have to clean it if we want it cleaned. Wow. Now THIS is hospitality! The one thing I can say is this is a unique experience. In blatant,  terrible deception, and unimaginably horrible customer service.  Seriously, Trip Advisor. Why must I give ONE star to make a rating. Why note ZERO?  Why????
