Awesome price and very clean rooms and excellent service also beds were very comfortable. You don't have to go to name brand hotels to get the service..

Great place to stay

Nice motel!! Clean and friendly service!! Nice to sit in the sun after a long day in the car. 
Good breakfast!! The egg fryer was a thing of beauty :) Can recommend as a place to stay overnight when traveling through Athabasca!!

Cross Canada travel

My wife & I checked in and were most warmly greeted by host William.  Although  not a anew property, the Athabasca Lodge Motel is well maintained, clean and spacious.  Of note were the six standalone BBQs in the courtyard of the property -- all there for the guests to use.  "Our guests are often oilfield workers", said William, "and are often sick of restaurant food".  Thus, with the BBQs and tools, all you need is your steak and a potato for a wonderful dinner.
Great idea.  Wonderful host.

Great BB Idea

Lovely motel just off the highway .....older decor but very clean, comfortable beds, great water pressure ....a small fridge and stove with dishes and cutlery for two....Bar B Q 's are available to use ....air conditioner and free wifi....small continental breakfast but egg maker is slick....laundry facilities available with a small exercise and weight room and table tennis!!!This motel appears to be utilized by a lot  of " work people" however it was quiet and the owners are very welcoming and friendly....good value and would not hesitate to  return.....

Good Value And Very Clean Motel

Needed a place to stay for my daughters tournament and this was the only place left....it was a nice surprise....Room was really clean and seemed to be recently renovated....Staff was very friendly and the complementary breakfast was awesome....price was right as well....only downfall was the walls are very thin....could hear the guy next door coughing all night....wifi didn't work well....Overall was a nice place to stay !!

3A basketball provincials

Although this place was certainly nice & clean enough, it seems understaffed especially at the front desk. I always had to ring for service which seemed odd. Upon returning late at 11:00 PM, to our dismay our room had not been touched. We specifically placed their "pls. clean room" sign on the door handle prior to us leaving. The desk Mgr. apologized & offered me a $20.00 refund.
Their (small) breakfast service is all over at 9:00AM!  Who on holidays is ready to go out the door before 08:30?  10:00 would be much more civilized! Needless to say we had to go to a restaurant for our breakfast.

Seems to need more staff...

I'd give this hotel a 3.5 rating if possible, as it just doesn't quite earn a very good rating.

My family stayed here recently.  The check in clerk was friendly, and we were pointed to our room in quick order.

The rooms are an interesting mix of contemporary and dated.  There was a leather couch placed across the jack and jill door to the other suite.  The TV was a surprisingly large flat screen TV, however, the cable signal is horrible and it was very grainy.  Our room had a full size fridge and decent flat top stove element, etc.  However, the bathroom was small, and the sink of the "kitchenette" doubled as the bathroom sink (there was no dedicated sink for the washroom, so you have to wash your face etc in the stainless steel kitchen sink.

The beds were comfortable and the WiFi was good.

Breakfast in the morning consisted of cereals, yogurts, waffles, muffins, cookies, etc.  It wasn't too bad.  They have an egg cooker there, but it was pretty dirty so we passed on cooking up some eggs.

Overall, it was a good stay.  As I mentioned, a solid 3.5!

A good hotel for a decent price

The initial impression was casual as there was no one at the desk till after a phone call was made, even tho they have cameras. When I told the front desk my credit card number I felt like the person near by was eavesdropping. Turns out they worked there. The room it self smelled like stale alcohol and bathroom fan periodically worked. To much light came thru from outside lightning. Overall not a great experience. And definitely not for the same price you pay in a nice hotel in similar oilpatch towns in Alberta and I’ve been to most of them.
