This place may be deceiving..but DO NOT let that stop you.  Place is a huge home…several rooms typical of a B and B.  We were greeted very friendly by the owner….and were checked in very quickly.  Chatted quite a bit, and soon realized we were the only ones staying there. .also we’re told that COVID restrictions were recently lifted giving them the opportunity to reopen.  Yes, we had to go downtown for breakfast, but we’re given the whole breakfast menu  to choose from. 
Back to the the ”luxury” suite itself.  Yes the room isn’t huge…Yes the furniture it antique..but the bed is comfortable.  You are given the choice to go down To the sitting area to watch tv….there is a coffee machine there to grind the beans for each and every cup you enjoy.  Did we mind driving the .6 km down the road for breakfast? Not for that kind we sure weren’t.  Do I recommend this place? FOR SURE!  Bill was very kind, generous and we will for sure be telling people about his place. When we return, and I hope it’s not another 15 years, we hope this place is still here.

Absolutely

Booked for one night had never been to a B&B before and seriously this experience was definitely not what I would have expected. We were greeted by a very nice lady who got us checked in and explained that that she was only there from 3pm to 7pm and to only lock our room door and to leave the front door unlocked (without staff there)
Room was so small no room for suitcases, jet tub was so noisey that had to turn it off, free toiletries consisted of a bottle of soap on the sink and a bottle of 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner. I really did not like having my toiletries not individually wrapped more sanitary. The TV was the size of a small computer monitor and after about 30 minutes ended up with a headache . Breakfast was about 1 km down the road so ended up packing up and heading home earlier then expected only because we didn't want to have to come back all the way back to get our luggage. Breakfast was good menu said French toast with fruit was a little surprised that fruit meant a slice of orange and a slice of pineapple on the side of the plate. Our experience was not a pleasant one so I'm sorry if there was nothing good to say but for the price we paid it was extremely upsetting. I'll not recommend this place as a B&B. Actually I would not recommend it at all.

The name of this B & B is deceptive as the rooms are not suites by any means.  We stayed four nights.  Our room was large with a king bed, but the furniture was not very comfortable.  There was a jacuzzi in the room that took up a lot of space, but which we didn’t use.  The two large upholstered chairs were old and saggy, making a long sit uncomfortable.  Also the four king-size pillows were all too firm for our taste.  Some softer ones would have been appreciated.  Breakfast is not provided in the house, but rather in a local restaurant.  The breakfast menu was quite good, but it was a bit annoying to go to another location a half-mile away for breakfast.  We probably would stay somewhere else in Baddeck next time.

Nice place overall, but not great.

We bought a luxury queen suite. I thought that we were getting a larger room with a sitting area,  They have a hot tub in the bathroom but  I doubt very  many use it.  It would be better to take it out and increase the size of the room. This was no suite .   The room was very small , had just one chair, no desk or space to move around.  
The staff, Vicki, was attentive and pleasant
The property has a great view and the room was clean
Breakfast  was served at the owners restaurant around1 mile away.  
They offer a choice of 6 standard items.  I bought an upgraded meal , lobster and eggs and was delicious .  They charged me the full price and didn't discount the  cost of the included meal.    I paid 22.00 

Only complaint was the size of the room.

Not so suite

Our room was nice, but not luxurious. The room had a window air conditioner, but the living area of the main house did not.  The main common area was very hot, so not conducive to relaxing with other guests.  We never saw the owners which was a negative.  One of the things we like about B&Bs is visiting with the owners.  The breakfast was great.

More like an Inn than a B&B

We stayed here for one night after finishing the Cabot Trail from the Chetticamp side of Cape Breton.  It was interesting to note that we had to check in by 7pm, and there was absolutely no management or employee on site until the next morning.  The beds were very soft and comfortable, the place was clean, and the showers were hot.  The free breakfast the next morning was at a restaurant down the street a little ways with an excellent view of the lake.  Overall, a nice stay.

Nice Stay

We cannot appreciate why this inn was so highly rated. During our stay in August 2018, we found no clues to this. After all, the reception was impersonal, it was only about paying. Help with luggage, for example, was not offered. Rarely was anyone from staff present. Neither in the room nor in the community area was there the opportunity to cook a coffee without proof. However, it was especially unpleasant that breakfast was not offered in the house location. One had to run for about 15 minutes along the main street. This was included in the hotel description.

Very disappointing - neither luxury nor bed and breakfast.

The Bell View has a fantastic location right by the lake - some of the rooms even have sea views. It is located on the edge of Baddeck, which is not a problem at all, because the place is quite small and everything can be reached on foot. Our room was small but fine - very tastefully Victorian. At breakfast we were greeted by Denise with an excellent breakfast: pancakes, omelette, toast. Simple. I would highly recommend the B&B to anyone who comes to Cape Breton.
