We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We ordered the fondue which was delicious, and creatively served on the terrace overlooking a spectacular view of the bay. As the mist rolled in and the lighthouse disappeared we sipped our champagne and felt the peace.

Incredible situation

What a charming quaint hotel that has beautiful views. A lovely couple owns this hotel and ensures you have everything you need. The breakfasts which are included are delicious and a great way to start the day. The view with breakfast is also stunning. The location is very close to Baie St Paul and was a great area to explore Charlevoix.  They did not have air conditioning however with the cool summer nights it was not necessary while we were there.   I highly recommend this hotel! 

Peaceful welcoming stay

Emilie and Julian are fantastic hosts at this peaceful retreat just outside Baie Saint Paul. Our room (no 7) was very comfortable with wonderful views over the St Lawrence river, great to have a bath too. Can thoroughly recommend.

A tranquil retreat with great views

On a good day the view from the balcony, where breakfast is served, is stunning.
Breakfast itself was excellent. Portions were just the right size.
Julien and Emilie are tremendous hosts, flexible and very helpful.
The auberge only has twelve guest rooms, so book well in advance.
Everything is extremely clean and nicely presented.

Quality hospitality

We had a little getaway in the Charlevoix region and opted to stay the night in the little auberge. The place has only 10 rooms (we stayed in #1) of differents sizes. All have their private bathroom with shower. 
Rooms are very clean. Very impressed with the organization during this pandemic. One staircase is used to circulate down and the other to go up. Breakfast trays are served in the room. The view is amazing so having breakfast in your room is not a downside.
Very pleased with our stay and we’ll surely consider going back and recommand to my friends and family. 

Wonderful visit even in the time of Covid

C'est un endroit où vous ressentez le désir de revenir encore et encore. La vue sur la rivière est magnifique. En un mot: un bijou! It's a place where you feel the desire to come back over and over again. The view over the river is wonderful. In one word: a gem!

Dream away!

There is no place like Quebec, the land, food, history and people are just The BEST. Our stay here was like a second honeymoon. Although my wife does not speak French, she felt unbelievably welcome by Julian and his wife. The views and breakfasts were wonderful. We can't wait to return someday.

Absolutely, Positively Wonderful!

My husband and I had a very good three-day stay at the auberge. When we checked in, Emilie told us that it was their first day as owners, and I was a bit worried that the service wouldn’t live up to the reviews. 

However there was no reason at all for concern; she and her husband Julien provided great service. They were responsive and friendly. For example, we had a problem with the electric fan (no AC in the room) and it was fixed when we came back the afternoon. 

Our second floor room had a beautiful view of the St Lawrence River and of the Massif. It was nice to sit by the huge windows and watch the cloud formations and the changes in the weather - sun, fog, mist, rain. There was only a jetted bath tub, no shower. We were aware of it, and it didn’t bother us although my husband would have liked a shower head at least. As I mentioned the room can get warm because it is west-facing, and it was hot on our first night since the fan wasn’t working. The following days, we closed the blinds during the day while we were out and opened them up at night with the fan, and it wasn’t too bad. Julien is also aware that the room is bright because there are blinds and no blackout curtains. He said that they intend to install them. My eye mask came in handy. 

There was a kitchen where we could boil water for tea and use the microwave. We also had a small fridge in our room. 

The varied breakfasts were delicious - served on the patio when it wasn’t raining, and in the dining room that has windows to the river when it did rain

It’s a few kilometres from the centre of Baie St. Paul but close enough for dinner. Also it’s just off Route 362, which was convenient for travelling to other towns in the area 

We enjoyed our stay at the auberge and wish Emilie and Julien well so that we can stay there again next time we visit Charlevoix. 



Great stay

This off the beaten path gem was one of the best places we have ever stayed and we are well traveled.

Be sure to ask for second floor as you get a sweeping view of the St Lawerence River, ships passing by and as a special treat two little sheep playing and eating in a grassy spot just below the balcony.
WiFi, breakfast at small cost, short drive into Baie St. Paul, 7 mins.
To say it was perfect would be accurate.
