We needed a room for our short trip and booked it and wondered what we find. The room was clean and quite air conditioner. we slept well on clean and comfortable bed. we had a great stay at Bancroft Inn & Suites.

Best Stay

We stayed one night at the Bancroft Inn and Suites as a family. We had two rooms - one for my father, and one for myself and my two kids. They have two buildings - we stayed in the same building as the office. There are new owners as of October 2020. Our rooms had brand new flooring (carpeting removed a few months ago) and new bedding, and were very clean. The wall unit air conditioner cooled the room down beautifully with outdoor temperature over 30 degrees Celsius. My father said it was the best night's sleep he had had in weeks.  If I had to find something to criticize, the bathroom fan was very loud but I would rather a loud, effective fan than an ineffective fan.  Wifi was free and effective.

The staff were friendly and helpful both at check in and when we reserved over the phone. 

The motel is just down the road from the main strip of Bancroft where you can find McDonald's, Subway, Tim Horton's. It is on the small highway but I didn't notice the noise in our rooms. 

We are in the area every summer and will definitely stay here again.

Great stay amazing customer service!!!

Bancroft Inn and Suites is located on highway 62 North (Hastings Street) north of Bancroft. It is close to a gas station, Canadian Tire, and a grocery store. It is a very short drive to other amenities.

OK, First the "Bad": There is no elevator to the second floor (kids thought it was an adventure), and there is no breakfast provided. That's the 'bad' stuff.

Now the important part : The place takes pets (Bancroft has a dog park). 

The room was very clean and simply decorated. It had a working AC unit and a baseboard heater for cold nights; did not need that during the 3rd week of August. The bedclothes were clean and new, the bathroom was clean and well kept up. There was a desk with a desk, a mini-fridge, microwave and a TV with cable (and a good picture):  As a definite plus, for me  anyway, there was an actual - and accurate - printed Channel Guide provided. I hate having to spend half an hour scrolling just to see what might be on. Free wi-fi. There was also a table and two chairs so we could spread out a little. Apparently the property changed ownership within the last couple of years and the new owners have upgraded the rooms considerably if some of the older reviews are accurate. There is still some minor cosmetic work left on the exterior, but my family and I were very pleased with the room and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and the surprisingly good quality of the room. This will be our "go-to" place in Bancroft in the future.

No frills but nice.

Very odd accumulation of buildings make up this
Motel.   Clean. Very basic. Heating is a bit odd (midwinter visit). Downtown location  and in summer I think the view in back would be very nice. 

Iffy wifi.

Basic but clean

No complaints except that the heating did not work the first night when the ambient overnight temperatures hovered around 4 Celsius.

Staff was courteous and helpful. They could not give us an alternative room since they were fully booked. For the second night they did provide a better room. 

The property is very clean and maintenance is decent. They must however have a panel of tradespersons available on call, to attend to utility trouble shooting.

Decent & Clean

Stayed here last night.  The decor isn't anything fantastic but the rooms was a  good size and very clean.  I have a hard time sleeping no matter where I am but slept like a baby here.  Definitely staying here next time.

Decent hotel   excellent beds

No ice, not really clean (bugs smeared on the walls) no breakfast and noisy.  The tv was sketchy and turned green and paused itself quite often.  What more can I say. I could hear people stomping up the stairs to the higher level and voices in the adjacent room. The light on the air conditioner shone all night and between the noise and the light I didn’t get much sleep.  Don’t think I’ll return. 

Should have stayed in my tent in the rain 

Was able to book in advance for family and pet which was great.  When arrived, room reaked of tobacco smoke.  Latch  for lock was gone for additional lock.  When we complained, we were afforded another room, but they could not accommodate.  Discount for lack of security  and smell not offered.  T.v. didn't  want to work either.  Had to use buttons on side of t.v. to make it work.  It was late when we arrived, and didn't  have an option  to go anywhere  else for the night.  In a punch it worked.  Hope they get on the odor and security fixed or they likely will  loose business

In a pinch

The room was clean but the bathroom fixtures, ceiling tiles and walls definitely need to be re-done. Great water pressure in the shower! We had talkative neighbours in the next room, which was apparent late into the night. Continental breakfast was plentiful but the usual motel selection. The motel is located on a busy road, so traffic noise exists but it's a convenient to drive into the town and beyond. The bathroom fan and light are on the same switch and the exhaust fan is very loud!
