We just returned from our stay at All Star Resort and I couldn't wait to write this review. We had such a wonderful time. We stayed in a comfortable and very clean cottage that had everything we needed; plates, cups, kitchen utensils, towels, etc. There is a fully functional kitchen with a stove, microwave, kettle and toaster. The shower had good water pressure, which was great to clean off after a long refreshing day outside. We stayed with our family of four (kids age 7 and 4); their room had two single beds, and our room has a double. It was exactly what we needed for a comfortable stay. We also had a deck attached to our cottage with a table, four chairs, and a BBQ provided, which was great too. Free WIFI is also provided, so look for the info posted on the wall in the cottage. 

We were able to park right beside the cottage, which was super convenient. The cottage has its own fire pit and dock and looks out onto the beautiful Madawaska river. We had access to canoes, kayaks and SUPs, which we really appreciated and took advantage of! The peaceful and serene river is just something I can't describe. Our canoe ride and kayak rides down the river were highlights for the whole family. Personally, I recommend waking up and watching the sunrise; the fog, the sounds of loons...it was definitely one of my highlights. 

Another added bonus is that the owners provide guests with an Ontario Parks pass to see Algonquin. They also had Algonquin maps, which I recommend taking from All Star as sometimes Algonquin runs out. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get from All Star to the East Gate of Algonquin Park. Although it is a bit of a drive, that's okay! It was a peaceful and scenic drive. Look out for animals on your drive; we were lucky enough to spot a mommy turkey and her baby turkeys, as well as a beaver! Many people report moose sightings on the drive to Algonquin as well, so you may get lucky!

The owners were so kind, hospitable and passionate about their resort. Very knowledgeable about the area and super approachable, so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask! We were so grateful for their hospitality and standard of cleanliness. It was such a comfortable stay.

If you are looking for a natural oasis away from the city to unwind, relax and recharge I could not recommend this place enough. Before we left, we already booked our next stay a few months from now. Thank you, staff at All Star Resort!

A peaceful, clean and comfortable getaway near Algonquin

Amazing location. The cottage, by the beach, clean and beautiful. The cabin itself has everything you could need ... pots, pans, BBQ, etc. Perfectly setup. Right on the river, the view is magnificent and very serene. Water is clear, no weeds to step on or rocks. Algonquin park is only 20 mins away. Beautiful area. It is definitely a place to relax and enjoy the nature.
The owners, John and Simona, are just great. We will definitely go back again.

The hospitality from the hosts was brilliant. They made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was perfectly adequate for what we needed. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The cottage was spacious and close to lots of interesting activities. Would definitely recommend a stay. We will be back soon!

A fantastic Getaway with a great host

My wife and I rented a motel room for 4 nights at this resort and it proved to be a good idea since the conditions were excellent. We traveled a lot to get there but it worth. The room was perfectly clean and unexpectedly big for a motel room. The location right on the river along with the multitude of docks and the ease of use of the motorized and non motorized equipment like ATVs, boats and paddle boards make All Star resort the perfect place for outdoor activities. In a nutshell, everything was as posted, even better. The owners were very kind and they exceeded by far their regular duties in order to make our stay very comfortable. Special thanks to Simona and John for their hospitality!
 We’ll definitely come again soon!

The perfect place for outdoor activities in the middle of the nature

Spacious rooms with all you need, very clean. Very friendly and helpful owners. Allways there if you needed something.  With a very good knowledge of the area,  they can give you advice on how do you want to spend your vacation: fishing, walking on trails in Algonquin Park, kayaking  or just taking a tour with the boat on the MADAWASKA River. It was our first trip there, but we will go again next year. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful time spend there.

Wonderful place to spend your vacation for those who love nature!

We celebrated a friend's birthday over the weekend at All Star Resort. This is the 2nd year we've come to stay at one of the cottages. Kids had so much fun and enjoyed the nature. The cottage was well kept and clean. Looking forward to go back in the near future. The owners were very warm and welcoming, kudos to John.

Amazing stay , great location!

Terrible experience with the manager. The instructions were 2 adults in a room, a child, and an infant. we booked for 3 nights then we returned to Mississauga to attend a wedding. On our way back to stay there for another 4 nights, we got a call from the resort saying the room available is smaller than the one we had before, and the fire department would put the manager in jail if the room exceeds its capacity! We paid the same room charge for all nights. When my wife argued with the manager why they did not tell us about that before, she started to fake complaints about cleanliness and a broken slide door to protect the room from flies. This door was already broken before we take the room. In reply to my complaint to Expedia, the manager mentioned they did that because we did not pay for the extra bed in the room! They did not ask me for anything, and I would not mind paying for an extra bed if this is the problem, the bed was already their how should I know there is an extra charge! They made my wife cry and spoiled our vacation for an extra bed charge! All that they say are lies, we are feeling sick because of this attitude. We cleaned the room well before we leave and took the garbage outside because they did not clean the room during the 3 nights. There was a note on the wall that if the room is so dirty, they will charge us $25. By the way, I asked the manager before I use a non-motorboat, and he charged me for using it. I have never been treated that way before in my whole life!

Terrible manager's attitude!

I highly recommend All Star Resort for your Canadian getaway in nature. The cottages and motel rooms are right along the Madawaska River with plenty of outdoor activities like kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. The staff are incredible hosts, extremely personable and they do an amazing job of anticipating the needs of their guests. Rooms are very clean and have all your necessities. Everything I could have wanted for a weekend away!

Excellent Experience

We spent the weekend and we had a great time. Very peaceful place with lovely view. Beach is small but clean and never crowded. The owner is very friendly and quick to respond to all our needs!
We will definitely return.

Great place

Stayed in cabin 2.  We had a great time swimming, canoeing and kayaking in the river.  Dock right outside the cabin was super convenient.  Beach is small but clean and never crowded.  Some small problems in cabin but owners were super kind and worked hard to resolve any problems, going as far as to cook a lasagna for us when our oven broke (there was a new oven installed during our stay).  Cabins are rustic but comfortable.  Overall a lovely, quiet spot to enjoy the area.  Kids didn’t want to leave!
