I had the privilege of organizing a family reunion weekend at Tally Ho Inn for 40+ people this August.  From my initial contact with Tally Ho in the winter, to getting all the rooms booked, and finally checking in for the weekend, all of the staff at Tally Ho were incredibly pleasant and helpful.  There are many different room options, and everyone was able to select a room to suit their needs.  Rooms were clean.  Some had kitchens & some didn’t, but all had small fridges.  Everyone has different needs & wants so read the room descriptions before you book.  The beach area is lovely, and many of our family members spent several hours on the Saturday enjoying the beach and the water.  There is lots of space for young children to run and play.  A huge plus for us was being able to book the rec. hall for the entire weekend.  It had washrooms & a small stage (we have musicians in our family who keep us all entertained).   We were able to set up a coffee, tea & snack area for during the day, and on the Saturday night everyone could bring over their potluck contribution for a family dinner.   The room was a perfect size, & we didn’t have to worry about disturbing other guests.  Special thanks to Pascale for all her help.  Tally Ho is an ideal family resort.  I highly recommend, especially if you are planning an event like ours.

Family Reunion at Tally Ho Inn

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Tally Ho Inn.  The staff were amazing and so friendly!   We were able to take the complimentary kayaks and canoes on Pen Lake.   We will definitely return and stay again.  

A wonderful hidden gem for a Lakefront Cottage Rental

Good family friendly spot. Dog enjoyed dog park. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Highly recommend Loon. We enjoyed the boats. Staff was friendly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants to go to Muskoka. 

Good price and good stay

We stayed at the Beaches cottage in June. It was absolutely beautiful and spotless! The view from our cottage was gorgeous and the breezes off of the lake were amazing. We did not want to leave. The king-size bed was so comfortable that we bought a new mattress when we got home that will hopefully be the same. This was our third time staying at Tally Ho and we plan to return for holidays a couple of times every year.

Our Favourite Holiday Destination

This was our 3rd time staying here. The first time we stayed for our anniversary and it was a pleasant surprise. Last summer we decided to go back for a week and see how it would go, we enjoyed it so much,  we stayed in the Castledown, it was just my hubby and our two dogs, it was quaint but only large enough for us and the dogs. They did have a stove and microwave but only a hotel-sized frig.  Staying a week we felt perhaps we needed a little larger cabin with a frig as well.  So this year we upped our reservation and picked the Birchgrove. We stayed there this past week and enjoyed it so much as it had a full-size frig and stove, microwave, and a large tv as well. Great reception for the internet and the tv. Just a stone's throw away from the lake and a nice cool breeze every day. I have not slept that good in months, we have already booked the cabin again for 2023.  Thank you for a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this place, it was very peaceful and well kept.

Still loving it after 3 visits

I was looking for a cottage rental that was pet friendly to escape the city. After a google search and reading reviews, Tally Ho Inn was chosen. I was not disappointed! I stayed in the Castledown #18 and the view was amazing! The cottage was clean and well equipped. My puppy loved running off leash in the fenced in dog park. I was only booked for a 2 day stay but I plan to return for a longer visit later this spring.

Great getaway

We were looking for a place for a short getaway.  Our daughter had a great stay here with her dogs a few years ago and suggested we stay here.  The cabin was clean and updated.  It was a great place to relax.  Check-in/Check-out was done online and the instructions were clear and the staff was polite and easy to talk to when I asked questions.  Due to cold/wet weather we didn't explore the grounds but from what we could see it was well maintained and there's a food truck on sight.  We did enjoy a short sit by the water and it was a beautiful view.

Visited Tally Ho Inn for Fathers Day and entire experience was great. Their instructions are super clear and should be read thoroughly to set expectations.
Stayed in cabin with full kitchen, everything was clean and in working order. Beds were comfortable and there was more than enough space for family of 4. 
Staff were all very friendly.
Grounds beautiful, good selection of kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Great views from all cabins. 
Thank you for a great time. We look forward to returning. 
TIPs:
- bring extra towels if you think you will need and beach towels for after going into lake
- water shoes as some areas are a bit rocky, have tree pieces 
- don’t arrive before 4pm, rooms are not ready before hand
- insect repellant is a must

Perfect Cottage Stay

Classic older resort but great up keep. Food truck right on site was a great bonus. Kayaks canoes and paddle boards available. Cute little room for a good price. Right on the water, I will be back soon

Perfect staycation

The place was superb! Clean cabin with aircondition great for summer outing! Fantastic view, we were in Sunrise 7 which you can see the lake even lying in the bed! water is clean so you can enjoy a great swim. Thanks Tally Ho. I will definitely comeback here
