I went into this with an open mind, we read the reviews. We booked it for 3 nights.  I knew that is was going to be old and outdated. But it was more than that. Initially it all looked okay.

We went in for 15min inspecting  the room, but  it was an old smoking room they converted to non-smoking so it smells like old stale smoke. It was not properly converted or cleaned.  I am not a smoker and smoke sensitive, it bothered my throat, eyes, and I got a headache, in only 15min.

Also regular deep cleaning is not done. There are hand prints, grimy area on the walls door and ceiling, boogers? wiped along the bed frame and headboard of the wall.  This can all be improved/ eliminated with regular cleaning.

Everyone on of our linens had stains. The couch and thick blanket had burn marks.

The appliances are yellowed, the walls and trim, and I think not from age, its from smoke.

We took a hit on losing money and went to a nicer hotel. It was worth it to feel safe and comfortable.

Pros:

The staff at the front were nice and voided our credit hold on the room.

We didn't find bed bugs.

Head board and bed spread appeared to be newer.

The bathroom looked clean.

Fridge was cold,  there is a microwave.

Spend a little more, go elsewhere.

We had read the many bad reviews and were quite apprehensive but needed a place and it was available so we booked.  We made sure to see the room before checking in. It was a clean room with all the needed items for a nights stay. Only item that would have been nice would have been a coffee maker.
It is an economy lodging place so everything is economy but still completely satisfactory and it was clean and smoke free. We had a good breakfast at the on site restaurant with friendly and prompt service.
From our experience no one should hesitate to stay there.

Good fort Ecconimical stay

The worst place I have ever stayed.  Room was decent and fairly clean, but sketchy people everywhere.  People in other room screened and yelled from 12am to 6:30 am.   People coming and going from certain rooms all night long.  DO NOT bring kids here.  Outside door does not lock and anyone can come in and they do.  Staff does nothing.  1 roll of toilet paper. 2 towels.  No coffee maker, blow dryer  iron. Just the worst place.   Unsafe.  Just dont stay here.

One night stay

...., this is a dated motel with parking space in front of your room  (which appeals to me)...  I thought it was a little on the pricey side compared to other motels in the area and what the other (more modern/upgraded)  facilities had to offer.  The room and beds were clean (the very first thing I look at) and the room was neat/tidy.  The was no micro-wave or clock. The bath-tub was very basic..., contained no bars/handles for disabled person.  Water from the shower... good pressure but not real hot.., in terms of temperature. The restaurant was basic....  tables and chairs were quite wobbly, which, for me, is quite distracting when trying to eat... Service at front reception was friendly. Would I stay here again..... probably yes..., but NOT if they raised their prices!!!!

SPACIOUS ROOM

I would give this place 0 stars if I could...I rented a room last minute on a long weekend holiday and this was the only place available... of course, the horrible place is the only place available. 

When I first entered into the room, it had a very strong smell of smoke. I could not even stand inside the room because the smoke smell is so strong. I tried to air it out, leaving the door open for a bit, all the fans on and the AC on too. Since this was the last room available around this area, we really tried to suck it up and make it work. 

After realizing that it does not air out and it continuously smelled of smoke (we are not smokers ourselves and did not ask for a smoking room, nor did the guy tell me it was a smoking room) we went to the front and decided to ask for a refund for the weekend and will drive home back to Toronto instead of staying the night. 

This place looks like its a family business. The father and daughter was there. The daughter said that they would check the room first and refund us, no problem. Then the father comes back after checking the room, everything looks good but he said he would charge us for the entire day, and refund us for the next day instead. 

I asked for a full refund because we have not been in the room for long and was trying to make it work until it didn't and I really cannot stay in a smoking room. 

He then lies and said that he told me it was a smoking room to begin with (which he did not), then later accuses me of telling him that I asked for a smoking room! Which is completely absurd because we don't even smoke!! Why would I ask for a smoking room if I don't even smoke and request a refund because its a smoking room?!?! It doesn't make sense. 

He then says that, usually, after 1 hour, there is no refund on the room. So we looked at the clock and it was less than 1 hour... then he changes it and says, no, after 5-10 minutes, there's no refunds.

The owner lied about everything and forced us to pay for the full day as if he is desperate to make money any way he could. 

The room itself was really old and dirty, the bathroom walls have yellow stains and cracks, the sheets look dirty. The only thing that seemed to be good was the AC was working properly. I am so glad that I did not stay the night there... 

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money, it is not worth how cheap this place is. There is no such thing as customer service in this motel. Even the owner himself cannot run an honest business.

Horrible Service, Smelly Rooms, Would NOT recommend.

Do not recommend. Dirty sheets and we found needles and cigarettes in the drawer. They didn’t care and didn’t want to reimburse. Bad service. There was a drawer full of seringues, drugs, cigarettes and garbage. The owner wasn’t comprehensive, didn’t seem to care about our concerns. Would not recommend.

Horrible motel, would not recommend 

I think the people paying for this place and leaving bad reviews are high maintenance. I didn't have a single problem and the room was nice and clean. Staff were nice. A bit of noise at night but there's literally a strip club across the street and two bars literally nearby so I don't know what people expected.. a retirement neighborhood? I wasn't disappointed and felt safe. No one really bothered me except to ask me if I needed anything. Thanks Travelers Inn :)

Good

Check in was quick and friendly, despite us arriving at a late hour.

Stayed here for a quick layover on our way to Ottawa. This place needs renovations. It's old. The mattress and pillows were barely passable.

Clean enough. Free wifi.

Look elsewhere. You can do better for the price. This place is Sarnia is $45 bucks max, I don't know why they can get $85.

Meh...$$$ for what you get.

Ok place to stay. Within walking distance to family events and restaurants after a long car ride. Great to stretch our legs. Little scratchy to see some of the door locks had jimmy marks near them. No continental breakfast but a breakfast coupon that more than covered financially our breakfast purchase. Check in staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff friendly and helpful. Worked well for us.
