An amazing mini getaway experience… came for work, ended up staying longer for pleasure!

Beyond the incredible facilities (beachfront with amazing sunrises, boat house and dock with amazing sunsets, infinity pool with a beautiful view of the lake, hot tub, sauna, steam room, massive room with balcony and kitchen…)  from the moment I arrived, I was greeted with friendly smiles and the utmost hospitality. Barry and his awesome team (kudos to Emma!) at the front desk were super helpful and friendly, and truly went above and beyond to look after me throughout my stay.

I travel a LOT - and by far one of the best overall experiences ever. Can’t wait to go back!

One of my favourite getaways EVER! 🤩

We enjoyed the best kind of getaway- beautiful surroundings, thoughtful decor, sparkling lakeside views, starry nights and glowing campfires. Enjoyed a terrific dinner with a happy,  lively atmosphere and great service. 

Beautiful lakeside luxury 

Checkin: excellent. Quick, Cheerful woman checked us in. We booked 2 days only as they would not let us secure the boathouse location.  We did not want the beach location.  We would have thought we could have secured this area since my wife has some mobility issues.  Luckily they were able to accommodate our request once we arrived.

room: we booked the 1 bedroom suite. The room had full fridge, gas stove, and a fully equipped kitchen. We had had this room last year and enjoyed the amenities.  We enjoyed the views. The balcony had a table and 4 chairs. The chairs and table were clean but the balcony itself had not been wiped down for quite a while as noticed by the dirty walls and the cobwebs in different areas. I don’t know if they clean it monthly but it definitely needs to be done more often.  We noticed many of the electrical outlets in the room did not work.   Thankfully they had many of them and we found some to charge our devices.  There were some ketchup smears on the sliding door and some stains on the pocket door for the bedroom and the cloth curtain for the bathtub.  The large areas were all clean but these dirty areas let us know that not all areas were cleaned between the rentals.

Pool: my wife enjoyed doing her lengths in the pool in the morning. The pool has beautiful view and is delightful.  Swimming off the swim dock was really relaxing as well.

Breakfast: this is the first time they had a continental breakfast from 8-10 am.  So kuddos for this improvement as prior years there was nothing available on the premises for breakfast. We were provided with coupons with our room number and the date for each of us for both days.   They had okay coffee, real orange juice,  pastries, prepackaged muffins, bread and a toaster with peanut butter and strawberry jam available.

Some room for improvements

This was not our first stay at Touchstone but it was our best ever.   We stayed in one of the newly constructed beach villas overlooking the pool and the beach. Absolutely fantastic.  They really thought of everything.  The suite was excitement well laid out and outfitted with everything we could have ever needed.  It was spotless and well appointed.  We had dinner in the grill which was fabulous.   We spent a lot of time on the dock and are Bobs Bar!  Fun!  The amazing thing about this place is the fact it never feels crowded at all.   We are already planning a trip back this fall!  Love it 

Absolutely loved it!  

What a wonderful place to stay! The suite we stayed in was clean, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the restaurant - especially the fries! 😁  Beautiful waterfront - a great place to watch the sunset. We enjoyed swimming and lazing around on the beach! Overall a great holiday!

The rooms are modern, yet cozy and homey. They provide all the amenities you could want, and are never overcrowded. Whether you would like to hang out on the beach all day, paddle board and canoe, or if you would rather relax by the infinity pool, or sun bath on the dock… you are covered here!
Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
The food at the restaurant is spectacular! The burger is the best we have ever had.
These are just a few of the reasons we keep returning to Touchstone. If you are thinking of booking for your next vacation, you will not regret it!

Best resort in Muskoka!

We are pleased to provide Touchstone Resort with a glowing review. This September we held our wedding ceremony & reception at the resort. The planning process with both Barry, the resort manager & Michael, Touchstone Grill manager was so simple and enjoyable! Our wedding went off without a hitch. The planning process was made flexible and always in favour of accommodating our needs- communication  was always timely and staff were friendly. Our out of town guest were taken care of- rooms were clean with beautiful views! Our reception could not have gone smoother- each course was served hot to the table and all guests enjoyed their meal at the same time! Throughout the evening Touchstone staff continued to ensure the best service. We would like to thank Touchstone for providing our guests with an amazing Muskoka experience and for making our day one we will never forget! It truly was the best day ever! Best Day Ever at a Beautiful Venue!

We booked 2 nights at the resort to celebrate my wife’s birthday. When we arrived, they upgraded us from a suite to a one bedroom, because it was our first time there.  Unfortunately, we had an issue with the sliding back door of the unit, which was not closing. They could not solve the problem that night, and it was an issue for us. However, they were very apologetic, and the next day they sent a person to fix it and also offered us a credit for our trouble. They deserve recognition for that. 

Besides that, the place itself is beautiful. The unit was nice and clean, amd waking up looking at the lake was amazing. 

I would recommend visiting the resort.

That’s how you solve problems!

Very underwhelmed overall.  It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary which we mentioned upon booking as well as during our stay.  Not even a Happy Anniversary.  When we checked in on the Sunday we inquired with the front desk about the Spa and restaurant reservations.  We were told that nothing is open until Tuesday. Not ideal but we could book first thing Tuesday (trying to be proactive I called Spa on Monday indicating we would like to reserve some treatments for Tues). Walked back to main building Tuesday morn and front desk told us Spa was to open at 10am however the staff had some errands and would be in at 11am.  No way to book through front desk.  Trekked back for 11am and still no one.  I did indicate this was quite frustrating when we've asked several times.  I was then told by same woman at front desk the spa had no services booked so no staff would be coming.  I reiterated that I did try and book several times since Sunday and left a message directly with Spa.  I happened to bump into owner of the Grill and promptly made a dinner reservation.  The food was great and staff were very friendly and took pride in their services.
Rooms were nice in boathouse building, bed was comfy but only had one chair.  Balcony was nice and all other rooms had a balcony table except ours; maybe that was only for those with timeshares.  We were texted several times about timeshare which we were not interested in.  The weather was unseasonably warm and we would have liked to do something like kayaking or even some recommend places to visit.  They even removed all the chairs on the docks and I had to ask them to leave a couple out for us which they did.
The scenery is beautiful and this place has lots of potential and is likely enjoyable in summer season but be prepared with food and finding things to do on your own.  The price is not cheap and it would have been nice if the 'resort' had some options for things to do.
