It was a dream come true....France and Etienne, the owners, were as nice as could be, we felt as if we were the only ones staying there, they were that personable !  The room was excellent, overlooking the lake.   The food,( Etienne is the chef  ), was absolutely delicious.......we ate there for every meal.  It was world class cooking ......We did see the Fall Colors, we drove through the National Park nearby, heard all about Grey Owl, whose stomping ground it was.  Went to  a beautiful  Cheese shop and bought the delicious  "Grey Owl Cheese "   had a wonderful time....

Excellent place to stay

Driving from Quebec to Nova Scotia, we were looking for a small, intimate place to stay, that wouldn't leave us penniless (travelling is high season!).  On so many levels, this little gem did not disappoint. France and Etienne have done a splendid job with this place.  
While there are not many rooms, they are all very well appointed (we saw/stayed in 4 of the 5 rooms), very clean and extremely comfortable beds.  France, who we spoke to most often, as Etienne was busy in the kitchen (more on that, later), was engaging, warm and very welcoming.  Although her English is as expansive as my French, she has a spark in her eyes, that makes common language not quite so necessary.  
We had dinner reservations and I cannot expand, enough, on the fantastic meal that Etienne prepared.  A party of 4, we each enjoyed a 4 course meal (fixed price), that was wonderful.  The selection was very large, varying from fresh seafood, meat and vegetarian options. We each has something different and all enjoyed our main, thoroughly.  But, let me get to dessert.  I am not, normally, a dessert person, but decided that I would have the sugar pie.  It is, probably, one of the best sugar pies I've ever had - not too sweet, if that makes sense?  Wine selection was good, as well as beer options.  We also had breakfast and again, it was a fantastic way to start our 9 hour drive.  Note, that our meals were served on the terrace, with a great view of Lac Temiscouata.
As we had to return to Quebec, we were very thankful that we had booked rooms for the return.  Again, we were received with a warm reception and treated like family, during dinner that night. 
I am not if/when I will be doing this drive again, but I would not hesitate to make this a stop in both directions, if I ever do.

How lucky were we??

We stayed here as a way station on a trip from Nova Scotia to Montreal. Online the location seemed nice. The room we had was spartan but clean and fresh and bright. Simple furnishings, not overly decorated. We had a balcony overlooking the lake and towards the park. It was a wonderful place to stop and rest. Quiet, beautiful scenery, peaceful. We were tired so we didn't want to go looking for a restaurant and we opted to eat here. Brilliant decision. Etienne is a Red Seal Chef, a mark of excellence (he doesn't advertise this but I asked since I have a friend who's a chef and I was curious). For supper, I had the Four-Course Table d'Hote that started with a wonderful peppery tomato soup, followed by a fresh mesclun salad with walnuts and a balsamic vinaigrette and for my main course, seafood linguini with shrimp, lobster, and scallops. Desert...Quebec sugar pie with maple syrup drizzle. My wife who didn't want the full four courses had a lobster salad that had a generous amount of lobster on a bed of mesclun with a subtle oil and lemon vinaigrette. Both of our meals were exquisite. She ate most of the pie (being as she's French Canadian and hadn't had this in years). Next morning breakfast...crepes with butter fried fruit. Gentle crepes, subtle "butter fry" of the fruit, sublimely delicious. France and Etienne are delightful hosts who obviously take tremendous pride in their auberge. We didn't avail ourselves of any of the other services they offer, but, our time spent there was a wonderful respite from two days of driving. Oh...and the bed was quite comfortable.

Gastronomic delight and a beautiful view.

Our hosts, France & Étienne, offer a wonderful place to: get away from it all, admire the beautiful view of Lac Témiscouta, enjoy a superb four course dinner and a delicious breakfast (Étienne's an excellent chef), and, just simply - relax! We opted for the package deal and it was very reasonable. This modern auberge (which opened in 2008), is only 2-3 minutes off of the A-85 (aka: Trans-Canada Highway) and is halfway between Rivière du Loup, QC, and Edmundston, NB. Did we note any negatives? Well, the rooms are basic, but we didn't spend any time in our room as we spent most of our time sitting around the fireplace in the ground floor living-area between the bar and restaurant. With only five basic rooms and one suite, this is a great location for a small group getaway! We will return!

Quiet, gastronomic with great service

Beautiful location right on the lake.  The food was out of this world, all four courses were great and the best filet mignon I've had.  The owners and staff were so kind and attentive and made our stay extra special.

Wonderful spot!

One of the best all round travel stops ever. Exceptional dinner cooked by the owner, a world class chef, served in a private spot overlooking the lake. Clean rooms with a balcony overlooking the lake. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Breakfast included - incredible omelet and apple cheddar crepe. 

Overnight stay between Halifax and Gatineau

When we reserved we took the suite room # 6 downstairs. You are at ground level right in front of the lac awesome view. The price is very decent at 155$ a night very quiet at night you can relax on your private balcony in front of the lac. You must at least have a meal at the Auberge the pasta meal with lobster, shrimp and scallops is to die for. If you want a small and nice place to relax this is the one to go. Thanks to France and Etienne the owner a very nice service  and  they make you feel like home.
